Conor McGregor: Notorious Film Premiere

“That’s one that’s gonna get the goosebumps going and get you training hard.”

SBG Ireland head coach John Kavanagh says the thought of preparing Conor McGregor for a lightweight title fight against Charles Oliveira gives him goosebumps.

There’s already talk of the matchup after McGregor called out Oliveira following the Brazilian’s come-from-behind submission win over Dustin Poirier at UFC 269 — and Kavanagh is 100 percent onboard with the idea.

“Well look, Charles is the man right now,” Kavanagh said in a recent interview with Severe MMA (h/t Sportskeeda). What’s it, 10 wins in a row? Something silly like that. Finishing most of them. He’s got a scary skillset. Very solid on the feet. He’s got wrestling, and his submissions are, if not the best, certainly up there in the entire UFC, never mind his own division.”

So what date am I fighting Oliveira?

— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) December 13, 2021
“So look, that’s a fight that I know would get Conor up early in the morning,” he added. “That’s one that’s gonna get the goosebumps going and get you training hard. If that one was to come about, of course it would be a pleasure and an honor to prepare Conor for that.”

McGregor is currently injured, of course, so there’s no chance of this fight being booked anytime soon but, for what it’s worth, ‘Do Bronx’ would love to throw down with ‘The Notorious’ for his legacy (and the money).

“If I had the chance to fight Conor for money today, I would. The belt is mine and continues being mine. We’ll continue building our legacy and making history.”

McGregor suffered a broken leg in his trilogy bout against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 and is expected to return to the octagon sometime next year.

Very gay statement.

Conor can’t even KO an old guy in a bar no more.
He was dragging the old guy into deep waters, it was simply broken-up too early. That was a Herb Dean stoppage and your comment showed Stephen A Smith level acumen.

So Dana has the audacity to tell Cejudo “that’s not how it works”, but Conor is plugged into as many unearned title shots as he wants. Disgusting! ?

Cejudo vs chuck is a way better fight.

I know Henry can wrestle but I don't recall how his sub defense is.

Conor needs to get smashed by Justin. Then all this nonsense about him getting free title shots can stop

If you were runnng that business, would you treat Conor and Henry the same? Would you make all your decisions equitably, allowing profits and ratings to suffer, or would you make the biggest fights possible?

Henry has proven himself. Conor is more hype than substance. I would pay Henry more than Conor. Wtf made Conor special? ? A funny leprechaun accent?

In Conor's defense, Cejudo couldn't sell out a VFW hall bruddah...

:leftright:
With the right marketing he could. Conor couldn’t sell out sht till the UFC put millions in marketing behind him. We saw more commercials about Conor when they were building him up than the rest of the UFC roster put together. We have never seen them dump that much cash into marketing any fighter before or since Conor. So to be fair, you can’t exactly compare in a straight line when the promotion chose Conor to build up.

I know you are probably trolling, but I’ll bite.
I guess, he didn’t do much to be considered special. He only:
  • single-handily brought more eyes to the sport than anyone else and became the biggest cross-over star in sports history,
  • broke all PPV and live gate records for the UFC,
  • KO’d the FW GOAT in 13 seconds
  • Had a flawless victory over a multiple-time world champion who was universally recognized as one of the best LWs in the world to become the first double champ in the promotion’s history,
  • Brought fighter pay and the idea of what a mixed martial artist could make to a new stratosphere
I do believe you would pay Henry more and I respect your principle on that, but you have to know how ridiculous that is from a business standpoint, right?

It make me cringe

Feed conor to someone outside the top 15. Treat him like anyone else that's on a losing streak

The thing with Henry is he thought people gave a fuck. When he did his "shocking' retirement I think he expected the fans and promotion to clamour for his return leading to a massive Payday. It diddnt happen. Fans and Dana were like bye Felicia. Now he's had enough of waiting and trying to pick his spot Dana doesn't have to play ball.

I'd like to see him back in there personally, I like triple C, he's a right cunt.

Strangely enough DJ did the same thing before him, he started trying to copy the McGregor path to stardom and Dana said yeh fuck off.

He's scheduled to fight rodtang or whatever his name is btw. Galt told me he's good
