It always feels like false advertising to me when they put up the Sun icon in the winter. You're like "Hey, it's warm" then it's actually cold as fuck, and usually windy.

Cascades and east get winter
I am near the southern end of the willamette valley(just west of the cascade range) which has elevation of 400-500 so it is usually just below snow level
We get winterish mix of snow/rain/sleet and that doesn't usually stick, we do get really nasty ice storms every few years 1-2 inches of ice coating everything
That said we are 33 degrees right now and it is snowing
2 inches on the ground and might get up to 8
This area goes a few years between snows generally
I have seen two feet a few times but that is rare

But for real, not for long. Any exposed skin will get frost bite quick. Your nostrils freeze together when you inhale deeply through your nose.
You have to plug a block heater in or your vehicle won’t start.

its a balmy -26c this morning. i just went outside to smoke a blunt and my nose froze shut almost immediately but my beard turned to ice too so that was cool . gonna go for a walk downtown this afternoon . it should be interesting . the creek in front of my house froze over overnight . its usually around -5c at this time of year. saw some ducks bedded down in the snow. poor dumb bastards should have flown south
Few inches of snow last night, but it's gonna melt away by this afternoon. Not especially cold. Mid forties, typical Michigan gray, cool, and drizzly.
27c is about perfect
i would rather be cold. not real cold but -5c is nice . i hate the grey and slushy part of winter. get your feet wet and its a long day
I recall having to keep faucets dripping during the winter.
I recall warming the apartment with the oven.

it used to get really cold here i the old days but the lake hasnt frozen over in my lifetime .it hasnt froze completely over since 1950 but 2017 froze enough for people to skate in some of the bays
