I wonder how he would prove racism in hiring against the Miami Dolphins, a team that actually hired him?Flores sues NFL, teams, alleges racism in hiring
Welp... I hope he's been saving his money because he's about to get Kaepernick'd!!!

He gave himself up. Pretty obvious.
If anything, it exposed the flaws of the Rooney Rule. Good intentions, but zero teeth to it.I wonder how he would prove racism in hiring against the Miami Dolphins, a team that actually hired him?
I absolutely agree, and Flores wanted to draft Herbert over Tua. If he's been given his way, the Dolphins almost certainly make the playoffs this year, and he keeps his job. Who knows, maybe the Dolphins could hgave made the Super Bowl? Hell, if a team as bad as the Bengals can do it, anything's possibleIf anything, it exposed the flaws of the Rooney Rule. Flores was a head coach for 3 years. Kind of hard to sue the entire league for racism when you were already given a shot.
He's just pissed that the Rooney Rule is a joke. The Giants already had their man, and bringing Flores in for an interview was just fulfilling the requirements of the league.
Does the NFL have an issue with too few black head coaches? Yup. I'd actually make the argument that Flores shouldn't have been fired anyway. Dolphins would have been contenders if they had a good QB.
I get that he's frustrated. I would be too. But I don't know if this is the best course of action.
Herbert on that MIA team would be lethal.I absolutely agree, and Flores wanted to draft Herbert over Tua. Those texts from Belichick make it look like he has a strong case.
Not alleging racism against the Fins. Just unethical management practices - offering $100,000 for every game he lost in 2019 and then Ross getting upset with him when he started winning games.I wonder how he would prove racism in hiring against the Miami Dolphins, a team that actually hired him?
Teams have to select individuals for the Rooney Rule. It sucks to waste someone's time to fulfill that obligation, but it is what it is. This situation just exposes the rule as being pointless. Teams will hire who they want. Those texts from Belichick make it look like he has a strong case.
Fucked any chance at getting another HC position though.
Can this be proven? MIA might be up for sale soon if so.offering $100,000 for every game he lost in 2019
I'm almost sure it happened and I'm 100% sure it can't be proven. Can this be proven? MIA might be up for sale soon if so.
I'm sure the Rooney rule has done more good than bad overall.Teams have to select individuals for the Rooney Rule. It sucks to waste someone's time to fulfill that obligation, but it is what it is. This situation just exposes the rule as being pointless. Teams will hire who they want.
I didn't think Flores was a bad coach. My assumption was he would have gotten another shot as (based on W/L and what he was working with) his firing was an over-reaction.
But now? Yeah - Not sure he gets another shot.
I think the Rooney Rule is a great idea, even if it is easily circumvented.I'm sure the Rooney rule has done more good than bad overall.
I'm surprised there haven't been allegations of sham interviews before now though.
He has a case against the Giants, sure. Those texts from Belichick make it look like he has a strong case.

Ah, I see. Are performance bonuses illegal? It's well known teams tank to get draft prospects, remember "Suck for Luck" at the Colts? Not alleging racism against the Fins. Well said, diversity can't actually be forced, unless the NFL starts actually allocating coaches. This situation just exposes the rule as being pointless. Teams will hire who they want.
Performance bonuses for winning are allowed.Ah, I see. Are performance bonuses illegal? It's well known teams tank to get draft prospects, remember "Suck for Luck" at the Colts?
The Dolphins would be a better offense than they were last year with either Burrow or Herbert at QB instead of Tua.Performance bonuses for winning are allowed.
Performance bonuses for tanking and manipulating the draft order are very, very prohibited.
I personally love how Dolphins fans are claiming that simply having Joe Burrow would have solved all our problems and that we'd be in the same position as Cincy right now, as if a thousand other decisions haven't impacted where the Bengals are.
In time, it will come around. We had a decent mix not too long ago, but with Flores being fired we're down to 1. That certainly doesn't feel right.Well said, diversity can't actually be forced, unless the NFL starts actually allocating coaches.
I think he did a good enough job to be hired somewhere else, especially if there's a team with poor player discipline and they wanted a "firm hand" kind of guy.In time, it will come around. My assumption is Flores would have been hired by a team. Still might be, but he's blowing some shit up.
O-line is still shit. Cincy had a shit o-line during Burrow's first season but it got considerably better in Macauley Culkin's second season. The Dolphins would be a better offense than they were last year with either Burrow or Herbert at QB instead of Tua.
Would that mean a Super Bowl win? Questionable, but it would probably have tipped the balance in favour of a playoff appearance IMO.
Or follow the ole "Cincy tradition" and drink so much they forget how disappointed they are.Cincinnati Public Schools are closed the Monday after the Super Bowl so the kids can stay up late celebrating a Bengals Super Bowl victory.

That's why I put in for a VAC day that Monday.Or follow the ole "Cincy tradition" and drink so much they forget how disappointed they are.
It did get better. That's how bad it was.
