He gave himself up. Pretty obvious.
You could also argue both 22 and 55 touched him in the process of Mixon losing his balance.
If anything, it exposed the flaws of the Rooney Rule. Good intentions, but zero teeth to it.
Flores was a head coach for 3 years. Kind of hard to sue the entire league for racism when you were already given a shot.
He's just pissed that the Rooney Rule is a joke. The Giants already had their man, and bringing Flores in for an interview was just fulfilling the requirements of the league.
Does the NFL have an issue with too few black head coaches? Yup. I'd actually make the argument that Flores shouldn't have been fired anyway. Dolphins would have been contenders if they had a good QB.
I get that he's frustrated. I would be too. But I don't know if this is the best course of action.

Not alleging racism against the Fins. Just unethical management practices - offering $100,000 for every game he lost in 2019 and then Ross getting upset with him when he started winning games.
Teams have to select individuals for the Rooney Rule. It sucks to waste someone's time to fulfill that obligation, but it is what it is. This situation just exposes the rule as being pointless. Teams will hire who they want.
I didn't think Flores was a bad coach. My assumption was he would have gotten another shot as (based on W/L and what he was working with) his firing was an over-reaction.
But now? Yeah - Not sure he gets another shot.
Can this be proven? MIA might be up for sale soon if so.

I'm surprised there haven't been allegations of sham interviews before now though.
I think the Rooney Rule is a great idea, even if it is easily circumvented.
He has a case against the Giants, sure.
Not sure about the case against Miami though, the team that actually hired him.

Performance bonuses for winning are allowed.
Performance bonuses for tanking and manipulating the draft order are very, very prohibited.
I personally love how Dolphins fans are claiming that simply having Joe Burrow would have solved all our problems and that we'd be in the same position as Cincy right now, as if a thousand other decisions haven't impacted where the Bengals are.
The Dolphins would be a better offense than they were last year with either Burrow or Herbert at QB instead of Tua.
Would that mean a Super Bowl win? Questionable, but it would probably have tipped the balance in favour of a playoff appearance IMO.
In time, it will come around. We had a decent mix not too long ago, but with Flores being fired we're down to 1. That certainly doesn't feel right.
My assumption is Flores would have been hired by a team. Still might be, but he's blowing some shit up.
I think he did a good enough job to be hired somewhere else, especially if there's a team with poor player discipline and they wanted a "firm hand" kind of guy.
Probably fucked it with this complaint though, especially accusing Miami of underhand stuff. No-one likes a tattle tale.

O-line is still shit. Cincy had a shit o-line during Burrow's first season but it got considerably better in Macauley Culkin's second season.
