No, they can definitely write the article, but it’s just an interesting one when you look back on every administrations spending. Articles like that are meant to get people worked up. A majority of people don’t even read the article, let alone think about prior administrations spending, especially when it’s “their team”. Should the public have access to that information? Yes. Should news medias paint it in a way that deliberately gets people worked up? No, but they want the clicks.
