And, wouldn’t you know, Twitter just filed this with the SEC

Per Bloomberg data, Musk’s 9.2 per cent Twitter stake would make him the largest shareholder in the company. Notably it’s more than quadruple the 2.25 per cent position of founder Jack Dorsey. At pixel time, Twitter’s stock is up 25 per cent in pre-market trading to $49.09.

I hope we can get to a point where only a couple of people control everything.

As largest shareholder he will influence the board to rebrand, starting with the name. “Twitter” will now be named after his next child “€#¥•£#%.” It is pronounced “Truth Social.”

Heard he tried to get into Berghain but was turned away at the door, then went to twitter to cry about why it's his decision to leave or something.

Hahaha.

Despite calling himself a 'free speech absolutist,' Elon Musk has a history of retaliation against employees and critics
  • Elon Musk referred to himself as a 'free speech absolutist' and criticized Twitter for censorship.
  • Musk has threatened to sue bloggers for critical coverage and fired employees for disagreeing with him.
  • "Seems @elonmusk is a free speech absolutist… unless it involves safety concerns IMO," a former employee tweeted.
He banned a whole TV station from the opening of his new factory cause he didn't like a report over possible water problems the factory could create.

This sounds so familiar. Someone who claims to be one thing but in reality is its opposite.
Hmmm

Sure sure, obviously he is just not the free speech god he wants to pose as.
Barring someone from your business doesn't reflect on your opinion of free speech. If he somehow stopped them from publishing the story, that would be different.

Twitter didn't stop anyone from publishing news stories either, just from doing business on their turf. Just like Elon did here.

Seems to be a good fit. More frozen accs as per the will of the Elon.

Twitter operates under protections afforded because it fashions itself as the modern "town square". It's a completely different example.

And the gigafactory opening is the absolute place to be, at least in his mind. He was dishing out a punishment because he has the power to do so, and as far as I can tell, this isn't unusual for him.

People believing he will stand up for real free speech are fools imo. He will stand up for what suits him.

Again, Elon doesn't say "Hey, come down to my factory. It's the world's best place to express yourself!" The two things aren't comparable.

You're 100% right on that. Over the last year he's really exposed himself as being a scam artist.

He actually purchased the shares before these tweets. Reminiscent of when he said his very own Tesla stock was over-valued.

He's an odd dude.
With a net worth of $270 billion.
