Shogun is slowly morphing into Cain
Wish he didn't take this fight

Beat Craig on points and only got a draw
then rematched Craig and lost and got injured

Now is facing another much bigger 205 who had previously TKOed him

Love me some Shogun but his time is long gone

That said he can always KO a guy if he lands flush with those heavy ass hands

Best part was Tony calling out the reporters after Morgan’s comment about privilege: “Everybody’s looking at it, they’re smiling, they’re laughing at it , but no one is saying shit.” I don’t necessarily think he is in a position to feel disadvantaged. After getting finished, then dominated for ten straight rounds, he is fortunate to still be employed, let alone in a matchup in the featured non-tile bout on a stacked card against the #5 guy. What’s he have to complain about? If there is any privilege it is him getting this opportunity based on his name, when his recent record would have otherwise prevented it.
Still, there are plenty of real examples of Dana White Privilege out there that the reporters could press Dana on more, so I’m glad he called them on the carpet.

Yeah it's kinda sad he still seems to need this.

Way past the point to call it a career imo. Be a coach or do television or something.

I don't think he needs money, doesn't seem like a guy to blow his cash... been a family guy for a decade now

Probably just wants to go out on a win or a win streak, and he had that going on a couple years back

He doesn't put in the time to be in top condition...obviously has been a clean fighter since he came from PrideFc...problem is he came into an Org that was never clean and never cleaned up...He is undersized and has fought mostly big dudes, and some were clearly juiced

OSP looks to be clean lately and he has lost to stoppage via strikes twice in a row, I guess the matchup makes sense in that way

Maybe it's not money but thrill.

Your probably right on with that

Dude was fighting dudes at 16?(can't find the video right now for some reason) and losing in the living room of some house in brazil for free
Then he became the best 205 on the planet a few times between 20-30 years old, he doesn't seem to focus on money at all...honor and the battle seem to be what he has shown to care about

haha
opens it up by saying he is back to having fun and laughing doing media

then turns dark and shit is no laughing matter

gotta love toney tone
I felt for him during this interview, and didn't want to say this. But im gonna say it

He seemed to jump back and forth between split personalities a couple times. And some of the jumps only lasted a few seconds

He's an interesting dude. That's for sure

Lauzon vs Cowboy is going to be interesting
Two well-rounded, fan favorites, who always brought it and put on a show. I have to imagine this is the matchup with the most collective bonuses ever between two fighters (and there will never be a paring that ever comes close). I hope they both retire after a violent clash that ends in a draw.

I think it might be the most bonus winning matchup ever, but never a pairing that comes close? Nah. The main event on the same card is only 5 behind - 33 to 28. ?

I don’t know. I think that is the exception that proves the rule. I mean, looking at the top 15 “of the night” bonuses EVER, the main event has the guy tied for most and the guy with the seventh highest total. No paring on this list would be likely to happen in the foreseeable future and even then, they would have plenty of ground to make up. For the record to be broken, more than one guy from the same division would have to go on a tear over several years. Maybe someone like a Khazmat could get to the top of this list, but he would need someone to match him. I think this one stands for decades if not all time.

I mean you're not wrong, but I reckon there's a long way to go. I mean, Cerrone is effectively done and Oliviera is going to go over 20 bonuses easily - he's only 32.

If Oliviera wins and rematches Poirier - granted that's somewhat unlikely - then if neither of them wins another bonus before that fight, they would combine for 30 bonuses. Both of those guys have at least another couple of bonuses left in them, I reckon.
