Among a series of forgettable fights, the weirdest one to me was Khaos Williams vs Randy Brown. While the fight was fast paced, it wasn't exactly inspiring due mostly to Brown trying to play an Anderson Silva game he clearly hasn't quite mastered. As much as I hate to go full KnockoutThoughts @KnockoutThoughts I think it was a clear enough victory for Williams going by the judging criteria. The commentators were obviously in the bag for Brown once he started doing the cute little slips, but Williams clearly took round 1 and should've gotten round 3 on the knockdown.

Here were the fight stats. Saas

As we see, 2 of the judges gave round 3 to Brown, which made little sense to me. Randy Brown def. Khaos Williams :: UFC 274 :: MMA Decisions

I don't see how you can give Khaos round 3. Aside from that flash knockdown, he was overwhelmingly outstruck by the taller, longer Brown.

I won’t call it a robbery but I feel Khaos deserved to win. The booth was nauseating with the gushing over Brown.

It was tough to pick a clear winner in that one. I had no idea who would get the nod when the fight ended. I definitely didn’t think the media scores would have favored Brown so heavily.

That was no flash knockdown. It was as pure as it gets and arguably the second one of the fight.
It was a legit knockdown but he wasn't that hurt. Being off balance contributed.

Brown also landed some big shots in that round which I think you are overlooking. Overall he outstruck Williams.

I feel the media is always anxious to coronate a "next Anderson" and Brown showed enough skill, especially in round 2, to seem like he could eventually be something special. No one wants to miss being on a hype train.

I didn't think he landed anything all that big in round 3. He did outstrike him numerically, but traditionally a knockdown negates accumulation.

Media and judges almost always gives rounds to the favorite that they didn't earn

Sucks but true

Same may have happened in the first two rounds of the OSP Rua matchup

Is the media is turning in their scores in between each round ?
