If so, what was your experience like?

Pros/cons?

Would you recommend?

Thanks!

I have not but a close friend did.
She loved the entire process from start to finish and said she will never buy a used car from anywhere else, ever again. She liked that she didn’t have to deal with anyone and her car was in near perfect condition, exactly as described.

The market is wild. Having just purchased a new car in November, I got super lucky to find the exact one I wanted, but it was the only one in the whole state with my specs… I searched far and wide for what I wanted.

Thanks. My eldest is home from college and my youngest now has her license. They both have Summer jobs, so we need a third car again. I know I’m going to overpay, but looking for the path of least resistance to do so.

I definitely think Carvana is a path of least resistance. No people and no haggling. I hate haggling because I’m a lousy Jew.
Are you looking at a specific model?

Couple things that caution me about it.

One, their cars are typically priced a little less than dealerships but you lose some or all of that savings in shipping costs.

Two, I always like putting my hands on a car before I buy it. Look under it, under the hood, drive it. Most cars you’ll buy from Carvana will be newer models, so probably not as important, but just something I prefer.

That said, not having to deal with a dealership is probably worth it.

My wife has a Volvo sedan and I have an electric Mustang Mach-e, so we want something bigger for vacations, etc. I think we have landed on a Honda Pilot - will run forever, third row seat but not too big for an SUV, and decent gas mileage.

Put it on Facebook marketplace if you really want to sell it. Used trucks are a hot commodity right now.
I don't wanna sell it, just bought it and it has less than 6K on it. I plan on beating it up and working it hard for many years it before selling.

Was at the dealership waiting for maintenance, and a salesman solicited me and tried to give me more than I paid to get me to upgrade.

The high used market is the reason I bought new.

For safety, I really do love Mazda, even though I’m on the fence about getting another one when my lease is up. That’s more about their lack of HEV selection than anything else, though.
Honda Pilot is a pretty good choice and definitely sturdy.

I have a lease and they want me to come replace it already. I’ve had it barely 8 months and it has just over 5K miles. Ugh, they’re gonna bother me next week when I get the oil changed, huh.

I play along sometimes and test drive something cool to kill time if it is gonna be a wait.

I drive a Mazda 6 Touring and the features are pretty tough to beat for the price. Good gas mileage too.

Pilots are sweet. What Volvo does she have? Good looking cars. Heard the reliability is questionable though. Any issues with it?

If I get in anything small and sporty, I’m fucked because I will fall in love and then have way more speeding tickets than I need. And not enough room. I’m dying to live my 18 year old self’s dream of owning a Saturn Sky in yellow.

This is my fourth Mazda and my second CX-5. I have a lead foot like there is no tomorrow so I don’t get all the benefits of their good gas mileage. I really try to not be so heavy footed but I can’t. That’s a small portion of the hybrid want. They said something about how they’re going to release the new crossovers(CX-50/70/90) as hybrids in 2023 or so, so I’m waiting ever so patiently because I’m pretty loyal and happy. I just hope they come in something like forest green since they’re supposed to be more rugged/sporty. It definitely feels very luxurious and as I’ve been pricing things out, even other mid-tier brands want significantly more for the same features.

Volvo S60 T5. I traded in my Audi A6 for it when my eldest got her license and I was going back to a time with a company car. I didn’t want to deal with the inevitable Audi repair costs and the Volvo is one of the safest on the road.
We haven’t had any issues with it yet, just routine stuff.
