I guess the suspect had a long gun and pistol. It was the pistol that a patron grabbed first and beat the suspect with it. Another patron jumped in, and they pinned the suspect down until the cops got there.

The suspect is not cooperating with the cops, so they can't determine a motive yet.

People are upset that the state's red flag law wasn't used in the 2001 incident, but AFAIK the threat issued was toward the mother and was to shoot her and blow her up. The mother wasn't home, and no bombs were found. I assume the incident was chalked up to an empty threat because I also assume the kid didn't have a record, so a slap on the wrist it is. I also think he would have had his guns back by now as long as he didn't get into any additional legal trouble. Then again, I'm no expert on CO gun laws.

I noticed we gained an initial.
What is the "I" for in LGBTQI+ ???

And I read the suspect was injured. I hope that whatever hospital the guy is in is out of painkillers and he is suffering.

The guy that stopped the suspect is Richard M. Fierro, a former Army Major who was their with his wife, daughter, her bf, and others. He took charge of the situation prior to the cops getting there.

He stopped the suspect by grabbing the back of his body armour, taking him to the ground, grabbing his handgun, beating him with it, and telling others to grab the rifle while he held the suspect down, he then told the guy that grabbed the rifle to begin kicking the suspect in the head as well as telling a tranny to stomp the suspect with her heals.

Once the cops got there, the suspect was out cold. He let the cops take care of the suspect and went to find the group he was there with. He found two of them, and had been shot. Fierro yelled out for medics, got a tourniquet from one of the cops, and likely saved the life of one of his friends for a second time that night as one of his friends had been shot several times. Both of his friends who had been shot survived. He was also able to find his wife and daughter who were uninjured.
Other cops confused him as the shooter upon arrival (poor communication by PD) since he was still holding the suspect's handgun. They tackled him, cuffed him, and put him in the back of a squad car. Once that was cleared up, he went to the hospital with his wife, daughter, and two injured friends. They still had not located the daughter's bf. Later, they received a call informing them that the bf was one of the five that died.

There's video of this nutjob in riot gear from an earlier standoff with cops. He broadcast it on Facebook live. Took his mom hostage.

Not sure if he did jail time - but obviously not mentally stable and should have - at minimum - been on a watch list.

If that's the 2021 incident, no he didn't. He threatened to. She called 911 from somewhere else.
I was half paying attention to it.

I also thought it was 2001. If that was just a year ago - how the fuck was he even out and about in society?

He's 22 yrs old. I don't think he did that as a baby.

My guess is because he had a clean record and didn't actually do anything beyond issuing a threat. His mom wasn't even there, he didn't have bombs, and his guns were legally owned. First time offense = slap on the wrist. Even if they would have invoked red flag laws, he would have his guns back by now.

I also didn't know how old he was.

So a dude dressed in riot gear with cops surrounding his house is posting to Facebook Live saying shit like "This is it! If they come in the shit's gonna hit the fan!" - someone like that just has to go 1 year without guns?

Maybe I watched the wrong video, but I'd never let a whacko like that have a gun ever again. And - at minimum - I toss him into a mental hospital.
