Remember the 08 market crash? I do. I also remember Forbes advocating for everything that lead to it and the fallout. Forbes is not your friend.
Forbes is a media that covers - mostly - business and finance.

They don't make national financial policy any more than Sports Illustrated makes rule changes for MLB or the NFL.

Fight fire with fire.

Enough is enough. It's one thing to support folks struggling with body dysmorphia. It's something else entirely to encourage it to the degree that "normal" children crave the celebrations of their fellow "trans" friends and are groomed to become something they aren't - often with damaging, life-long consequences.

I'd rather we all just stop trying ruin each other but hey, that's just me.

Oh, boy.

Would you like to field this claim of "media doesn't influence policy" sparkuri @sparkuri ?

Same boat. Different paddle.

I want whatever is fueling this trans wildfire to stop. And companies using it as a form of identity politics is insane. The pendulum swung way past crazy a long time ago. Enough.

The amount of kids identifying as trans has shot through the roof. Is that because they finally feel accepted? Or maybe other factors at play? It's gross and it needs to stop.

My niece - who is 9 - has 5 kids in her class (out of 48) that are trans. I know that's about as anecdotal as you can get - but what in the actual fuck?

And you think these kids are doing that because bud light gave cans to 300 influencers, one of whom was trans? Or do you think their parents are fucking idiots?

"What little Sally? You want to called Kevin now?"

Yeah, well I was sitting down with an ice cold bud light and thumbing through my most recent Forbes periodical and realized I'm a boy in a girl's body.

Ffs.

Not gonna lie. That made me laugh

Yes, their parents are idiots.
Yes, Bud Light is part of the problem.

So Forbes was the mastermind behind the housing crash of 2008?
Mastermind? No.

Were they complicit in marketing it and did they censor dissenting voices who tried to protect the public from the bubble? Yes.

Dude, after 3 years of the pandemic, you really still look at corporate media and think they're giving you the straight dope?

" The Forbes family still owns a significant stake in Forbes Media, along with Integrated Whale Media Investments. The family had complete ownership for 97 years. In 2014, the Forbes family sold a majority stake to the Hong Kong-based investment group. "

Of course not.

That's why I shun them when I sense bullshit. They know naming some TikTok dude pretending to be a woman doesn't warrant a TOP 30 UNDER 30 but they did it anyway for social credit.

Fuck that.

Somewhere out there, there is a 31st ranked 20-something who would have loved to put that Forbes call-out on a resume.

Instead it goes to a lipstick-wearing cock-swinging bud-light-drinkin big meanie.

Yeah, dude. They're pieces of shit. That's my point.

And at this point in the conversation we find common ground.

All I ever said was that I don't understand why people think pieces of shit should hold their own personal moral sensibilities, friendo.

And here we are disagreeing again.
You never said that. Word for word.

What I said was "Who gives a fuck if people who sell poison share your beliefs?" Then people got all excited about cancelling things.

Same applies to Forbes. They hate the middle class and the poor. Them putting an insane person on their cover has no bearing on my life because I don't have an expectation that those monsters would share my beliefs.

Nope. You said people not wanting to support Or buy products from companies who promote this kind of thing is cancel culture.

It's a purity test, it's cancel culture, it's all the things the right, or Republicans, or whatever the fuck, opposed a year ago.

Both of those things are true. It's not hard to figure out.

influencers, you say? Who are they influencing?
No idea.

But if the accusation is that Bud is marketing to kids that's a way bigger problem than who they have doing the marketing.
