Let me guess:
They're that predictable.
Identity was awesome, the rest have been a slow slide into a generic action franchise that'll eventually shit itself in the Bourne Retirement Home in 20 years.
Bourne Legacy with Renner/Weisz wasn't half bad, it just got saddled with being part of the franchise without its star. Should have made it a standalone film, but Hollywood's terrified of trying anything new.
I don't care how much of a pain in the ass Doug Liman was to producers, they should have kept him. At least the cinematography didn't look like Michael J. Fox was filming it with an industrial vibrator up his ass.
And yeah, I'll watch this one too, damn it.

The books are fantastic. I think I have read all of the original Ludlum books. If you like spy stuff they’re great.
