What do you motherfuckers like planting after cucumbers that take little/no amendments?

I don't see why not, but I haven't grown beets in a minute. Just like other root crops they will need bone meal though, especially since the cucumbers ate up a lot of the nutrients.
Great.
I have amended the field with deer.

Pulled some peppers & got some direct sow cold hardy stuff in the ground.
I'll pull the rest of my peppers next week & replace their pots with herbs & stuff.

After harvesting last weekend I chopped and dropped all stalks (I cut them down into little pieces) and leaves I didn't use then buried them in the upper 3" of the planters. I've been doing this for a while now because it supercharges the soil and and makes the worm activity explode. There are so many baby worms right now it's insane. I just reset the planters with lollo rosso, prizehead, black seeded Simpson, and grand rapids.

Had to pull most of my last remaining fully blushed peppers.
It looks like I might get a freeze sometime next week so I'm going to try to get the remaining energy until right before the freeze then pull everything else.

Although not garden, the forest is a natural one I like learning.

I found a Hackberry Tree & berries, & picked up some Turkey tail for tea.

One of my tabasco plants has a full flush of flowers right now. Should be interesting to see if I get Christmas peppers.
Mine do too but there's just no way it's gonna happen.
I've never successfully overwintered pepper plants but I'm really gonna give it a go this time.
