ilia is tougher than Connor who has shown to en a front runner vs Nate and Khabib. Also a better grappler of course.

Guy stil rubs me the wrong way but credit for saying he’ll give Volk the rematch due to Volk’s long reign. True recognition there. Connor would already be loooking at moving up or the Floyd type fight. Ilia also now has a defense against another FW GOAT.

still don’t like him but who cares. This isn’t for nice guys and idols. It’s who’s the best fighter. Also as noted above, give him credit for saying he’ll rematch Volk and fight Lopes. He didn’t say no one deserves to fight him this time etc..but he said it before.

DC is actually correct in that Ilia’s boxing is tighter than Connor and Connor was a boxer to start. Connor adapted that karate style long range boxing tho. Just a diff style. Would have been a good fight in Connor’s prime. Esp as Ilia doesn’t do as well in against south paws.

Also good job by Max not letting Ilia getting any countrol on the ground. Compare than to Khamzat. Ilia’s grappling might be good but not as good as Khamzat’s. No comparison. Or Islam’s.

That was awesome. Great to see two finishes in the two main fights. Thought Max was looking good, liked that stomp kick to the leg to give an answer to the calf kicks, and was landing nice shots when ilia was closing. That power though.

agreed. Jab was giving Ilia probs but Ilia’s calf kicks were also hard. And yes also liked the stomp kick to Ilia’s lead leg, looked to have buckled him a bit.

also end of r2, Ilia looked flustered for the first time saying cmon when he didn’t have anything to offer and was just waiting for the bell. But he came back and finished the night in r3. His cardio looks good enough where his power was still there.
