Yeah, it'll "match" the house.

29 degrees.... wish my fingers luck

We had my buddies son (20) yesterday afternoon and for today
The 3rd guy makes it go 4X faster. We were legit rolling fast, today should go pretty smooth now that we have it figured out.

1/4 done on this side. Its wild how much harder the metal is to drill through when it's this cold.

Inside warming up for 15 and back at it.

Bonus, almost sliced my thumb off on the second panel when it slipped.
This shit is no joke...28foot panels have mass when they're coming at you.

I almost cut an artery trying to hang from one when my ladder slipped. Try an avoid going in solo with those tasks!

Over the years I've had multiple ER docs tell me that some of the worst injuries they've ever seen came from metal roofing mishaps.

Shit is deadly.

You guys are drilling them out on the ground right? Normally we just stack them up on saw horse and drill them all at the same time, that way the screw holes all line up perfectly and once you get on the roof just impact the screws in.

Nope. Just lift them up to the temp retaining ledge and screw in place.
Worked fine, we had some pretty true perlens continuous.
I screwed what I could reach from the lift (BEEP!) and my buddy, who was harnessed and tied in (BEEP?) did the rest. While he was doing that me and the kid would get the next piece staged on the lift and ready to go.
No kidding, the 3rd man made all the difference for time, we were rolling pretty good. Got done around 2, which was an hour past when we rented it and another hour drive to return.
They started to give me shit about being late and I cut that right off. "This piece of shit cost us at least 3 man hours by randomly shutting down for periods of time. If anything, you owe me money" and that was the end of that noise.

Absolutely beat and my day ain't done.
The kid literally leaves for trade school tomorrow so today is my last chance to use him like a rented mule. He's grabbing a friend in about 45min and coming to my property to help move my furniture into my container.

FormerMrsMedic took the bed so I've been sleeping on the couch. When we chuck this thing into storage I'm officially sleeping in my bros guestroom I guess.

Great progress

Concerned about moisture in that container?
I throw 3 moisture absorbers(unscented) in mine to keep it dry, but I bet you have much drier air inside your container. I live 50 miles from the Pacific so I don't wanna fuck with wet air on my wood furniture and other stuff. Do they come with holes drilled in for vents? Somebody modified the one I rent and it has 8-10 vents(triangle of drilled holes) along the top of both walls and 2 lights that turns on when you open door so I have never seen a raw container.

Not too much. There are small "mouse proof" vents top of each corner that seem to be factory, both containers have them. Makes sense, they seal tight and need to be able to vent with altitude changes or they'd explode lol

Although it looks like I'll be transporting this furniture in the rain/snow, which is just great.

Ok my vents might be factory then
You can always dry the unit out a bit with one of those lil buddy propane heaters a few times

I'm glad you all got that roof setup, then. Tons of progress. You're gonna need a walk in closet for all the flannel!

We got the back dried in but will wait til spring to put metal on.

Other than that and a more permanent power box it's done. It could be left as is and the thing will outlast us both, it's probably the most solid thing I've ever built, lol

Looks great
what is the little building next to it
That was a guest shack/MIL kind of structure. Was here when my friend bought the property. He always just used it for storage. It's gnarly in there, way past it's expiration date. Will be deconstructed and off to the landfill.

Was probably pretty cool back in the day, but was already wrecked by water damage when he bought here.
Just had saws and yard tools and shit like that for as long as I can remember.
