I picked up this midget about 2 months ago and finally brought it to the range today. Absolutely love it, but the magazines are so tight that I could manually only load 4-5 rounds into them (10 round mags). Thumb is still sore as fuck. It isn't a one off mag, it was all 5. Anyone else have this issue with the p365? Never had mags this tight EVER, almost a really mean joke.
When I was loading thousands of rounds a weekend this was my best friend:

I expected some homosexual references when I posted. Thank you for checking that box.
I know the mags will loosen up, but right out the box it's amazing how tight they are. After posting I did an internet search and sure enough it isn't just me.
I will say getting the 12th round into the 12 round mags is an absolute bitch. I usually just use one of my uplula mag loaders to cram it in there.

Looks like that is consensus across the board until the springs loosen up a bit.

I don't know about the 365, but I've never had mag springs loosen up. My general experience is that people think they're getting looser, but really they're just getting better at loading those mags (a lot have their own best way of putting a round in) or their thumbs just get stronger and/or more calloused. Either way, I have no interest in being a professional magazine loader, and I'm not in a war zone or some shit where I'm without my mag loader, I just leave it in my range bag.

This thread reminds me, I need to do a mag count. I think I gave a couple away when I sold one of my 226's. I should probably get a few more.

Can I load by hand? Sure, but I'd rather spend my time shooting instead of loading mags.

My wife picked up a couple of these gimmicks over the summer and they work surprisingly well. Basically a quick fill stripper clip.
ETS C.A.M. Mag Loader 9mm/40 S&W Polymer Black

On the AR side, I've been using the Caldwell loader for years

Only complaint with the Caldwell is that it's 50 rnds and not 60 for an even 2 mags

Always wondered if those things worked.

Caldwell - been using it for probably 5 years or so, no issues.

ETS - Brand new mags I had to load 5-6 rounds at a time, others that I've shot for a while can rip all 17 in a single go.

To be fair, I'm hesitant to blame it on the loader specifically because it was the first time I was trying out some cheaper mags (brand escapes me atm) from gun mag warehouse.

Zero issues with OEM mags, but I'd been using them for a while so I can't draw a clear distinction between cheap junk vs 'broken in'.

I picked up a S&W Response a few weeks back that I haven't had a chance to shoot yet, along with a handful of 32 round Glock mags to go with it. If I remember this thread when finally I do get a chance to take it out, I'll reply back on how the loader worked. Apples to Oranges sure, but it's still OEM vs 3rd part
