My wife said the same thing after the first episode, this sucks. It's been 3 years since the first one came out during covid though so I had her watch this to refresh her memory.

She loved the whole thing after watching that. There are a lot of mind fucks coming, it's worth pushing forward. I was pissed when we tried watching episode 8 and then found out that they broke up the season.
Thanks - I won't watch that. I started the show last night and almost gave up as the main character is a such a clown. Glad I stuck with it, though...dang with that first challenge. I'm a few minutes into episode 2 & will watch more tonight.
As an aside - I mentioned Mr. Beast's "Beast Games" amazon show a few posts up...I didn't realize it at the time, but it's just a real life Squid Game kinda thing (huge group of people, random challenges for *stupid* amounts of money). Though the "eliminations" obviously aren't quite as drastic. lol

Kinda wild that Netflix hasn't sued amazon, yet. The only news I see about amazon being sued is by contestants due to "mistreatment" (whatever that means - didn't look into it).
Mr. Beast is fake and gay. I refuse to watch any of his shit including the knockoff game. I also thought the 1st episode started off slow but ended strong and only got better from there...
It was hard for me to follow any of the normal characters or the main character in the second season of Squid games. The weird ones were easy to identify(the best friend, the gangsta lapper, the witch, the bitch, kvr's tranny) but call me lacist all you want but I even thought the pregnant chick died 3 times. Still, I loved it. The games were brutal but looked fun. Also, the dubbed version was better.
