Probably a gtx 980 for myself. The lady friend is still fairly new so won't be anything crazy.

Not yet. It's the final piece of the puzzle for my HTPC. I'll get a couple steam remotes as well and it'll be my gaming/movie/TV box
Already have one in my bedroom (MCE), although it doesn't run Steam, it runs MAME and KODI. Gets TV from a silicondust box with cablecard.

Also has Kodi appended to the menus for quick MCE access.

My HTPC may or may not be on a supermicro mobo and using a quad core xeon w/ hyperthreading

I assume it's going to be more games than movies then, eh? That's quite a bit for an HTPC.
It's going to be for both, and I'll move my plex server over to it so I can shut my desktop down. I got most of the parts for free, that's why I went with it. Plus a 4k TV will be had next year as well. I actually have two more xeons with similar specs. I may build a micro atx or itx pc to replace my desktop. Decisions decisions

Have you had a chance to play with the Steam controller yet? They put the buttons in such an awkward position.

If you're interested in donating an additional gtx980 because the lord said give people free shit, then...I mean, I'd volunteer as tribute...

Got a Gigabyte GTX950 Windforce Extreme edition from my dad. I tossed it into my older system for the short term, Once I'm done getting the last few bits of the new Frankenstein machine, I'll toss it in there. Cant wait.

Fallout 4 is fucking gorgeous on the 980Ti. Everything is really. Mot likely won't have to upgrade until Valve finally releases their next wave of games.

Go with micro atx, I built my router with a nice one. Intel NUC is also a nice solution.

4K's are extra cheap nowadays. Fucking 75" for less than 2K.....
