I often think of that kinda thing too, but it's probably a combination of being paid extremely well with NDAs saying your entire family gets murderized if you talk.

Yep - $2.3 trillion. IIRC, it was announced on Sept 10, 2001. And the area of the Pentagon that was hit supposedly held (most of?) the records where it would be accounted for.
They've since tried to do a bunch of spin doctoring, saying Rumfeld's words have been taken out of context, he was saying $2.3 couldn't be accounted for because the records were in so many places, not that it was "lost", it'd supposedly been brought up & talked about before then, etc.
That's more than a 10% down payment on the elites' underground city.

They will just die slower and probably in a more brutal fashion. Imagine 100 of these people in a tube indefinitely, no laws, no rules, pure survival. Almost no one survives a month. The final, lonely inhabitants sit in quiet inside of six months is what I would bet.
