Camazotz - The Maya Batman - In 2014 Warner Bros summoned 30 artists to reinterpret Batman on the occasion of its 75th anniversary. One of those who accepted the assignment was Christian Pacheco, owner of the design firm Kimbal, based in Yucatán, Mexico. This was his design.

San Francisco based programmer Stefan Thomas has over $220 million in Bitcoin locked on an IronKey USB drive. He was paid 7,002 BTC in 2011 for making an educational video, back when it was worth just a few thousand dollars. He lost the password in 2012 and has used 8 of his 10 allowed attempts.

In 2023, security researchers at Unciphered claimed they found a way to bypass the IronKey’s 10-attempt limit using advanced hardware techniques. They offered to help, but Thomas declined, saying he had already made deals with other recovery teams. The Bitcoin remains locked.

NASA found the DNA and RNA building blocks plus 14 important amino acids in asteroid Bennu.

The findings do not show evidence for life itself, but they do suggest the conditions necessary for the emergence of life were widespread across the early solar system, increasing the odds life could have formed on other planets and moons.

In Star Wars IV - A New Hope, the crew used angled mirrors on Luke's landspeeder to reflect the desert ground and hide the wheels creating the illusion of a hovering landspeeder. The used repulsor lifts so the tires never contacted the ground. They also had a second landspeeder that was on a long carousel arm for the actual moving bits.

Franca Viola (1963) Italian woman who became famous in the 60s for refusing a "rehabilitating marriage" with her victimiser after being kidnapped and raped. She was one of the first Italian women to publicly refuse this tradition and, with her family, successfully appealed to law to prosecute him.

The guy she refused to marry wasn´t just a random rapist, it was the son of the local mob boss, and raped her specifically because he wanted to marry her against her will and was counting on the rehabilitating marriage, meaning the law actually incentivized rape.

Her family stood by her even when the mob burned down their house and vineyard.

A team of 26 designers, engineers, and LEGO builders, built a near 1:1 scale of 10 Formula 1 cars over 22,000 hours. Each build is made of nearly 400,000 LEGO bricks, weighing 1,000kg, and is capable of reaching speeds of 12mph or 20 km/h.
