I'm on the St Johns river today in North Florida. It's a beautiful location. About a 4 mile hike with 37 lbs of shit on my back, but worth it.
Those are called saw palmettos and you win the prize because they are named that because of the saw like teeth on the palms. They grow here like grass. In the forrest, saw palmettos make up 90% of our undergrowth.
Between those, pines, and Spanish moss covered oak trees, you've seen most of Florida.
Ye they didn't look like fun to be pushing through, that moss is the shit. I always loved seeing it in movies. Oak surprises me for no reason.
That's a good pack weight you're at and a nice hike in, chilling in camp is always nice after a walk like that. Your getting deeper into the woods on these trips aren't ya

Definitely deeper in the woods. I haven't seen or heard a soul all day. I had to leave my gps coordinates on the refrigerator for my wife lol.
