The people are fair to middling I guess but the food and the weather are what really makes a place like Blighty special. Nothing like putting the soccer game on the telly on an overcast evening and then sitting down to a piping hot platter of pork faggots and mashed potatoes with mushy peas then maybe after the match having a few pints of Sarah Hughes Dark Ruby Mild and watching some On The Buses reruns. I could really get into that kind of thing.

Geez, I'd really like to embed The Testing Of Eric Olthwaite here, that's my favorite Ripping Yarns episode from the first season but BBC takes them down so fast you can never find it. They laughtracked over the first season on some of the later releases though, which totally destroys the effect. If you can find a copy sans laugh track though you have to see it if you haven't.
