It's no surprise to anyone that Kimbo Slice and Dada 500 have disdain for each other. That's one of the reasons why Bellator MMA put the bout between the two streetfighting legends together.

With that knowledge, Bellator president Scott Coker told MMA Fighting that there will be heightened security during fight week before Bellator 149 on Feb. 19 in Houston.

Slice and Dada, whose real name is Dhafir Harris, are being put up in separate hotels and whenever precautions will be taken when they are in the same room at the same time for press conferences and workouts. Bellator staff and security will make sure the two fighters and their respective camps are far apart at all times.

"We're gonna have good security there, because we don't need any fight before the fight," Coker said. "Or any crews fighting before the fight. We're already on it."

"Believe me, it's something we've already planned out," Coker said. "I feel confident we'll be fine. We're gonna have the police hang around, so they know that it's a serious situation. If anyone wants to act up, you might go to jail."

Smart plan. Better safe than sorry. Although a backstage scrap might be more entertaining than what we get in the cage.

Lmao this is some junk put out to hype the fight let's not take it that seriously. I really doubt there is that much bad blood.

Feed either of these guys to Fedor, even right after he steps out of his dacha smelling of vodka, and they'd get crushed quickly.

No need for security. If there really is bad blood let them fight in the hotel, Jack in the Box, on the way to the cage, or wherever the hell they want. It will be over super quick anyway. If they actually fight in the ring they will implement game plans and it may be a snooze fest if it goes past 1 minute. If they fight in a lobby somewhere it will be much more raw and we may see chairs or tables involved. It's not like we wouldn't get to see it. You know we could watch 5 different views of it in Wooooooorrrlllldddd Star.

Bellator actually does stuff like this fairly often, you just don't see it. For instance, our last show in Fresno, an eagle eyed viewer would note that Daley was the only one to exit the cage out of a different door than anyone else did that night. That's because the exit door was right by Koscheck.

It's not unusual to have fighters stay at different hotels to separate them, or more importantly sometimes, the hotheads in their camps. I find that most often it's idiot training partners and coaches that cause the majority of problems like this than the fighters themselves.

How pissed was Coker & Co when that incident went down with Brooks & the Pitbull Bro's CutmanMatt @CutmanMatt?
Honestly, extremely. The police really did come, and it was really a thing, as much as conspiracy theorists think otherwise. Scott is a very old school martial artist and expects discipline and respect from them towards each other and the org.

And honestly, from a logistics point of view, it's such a pain in the ass to deal with bullshit variables like this.

I figured as much. Coker seemed livid.

Even from watching that documentary, Dawg Fight, before knowing his personal history with Kimbo, i thought Dada was a complete phony. He hasn't fought anyone even at the backyard brawl level.

Can't put on a show if fighters get hurt prior to the bout. Just seems like smart business to me.

Horrible promotion for a horrible fight. Coker ain't got much to work with so can't really blame him.

this isn't no joke..I saw Victor Valenzuela and some MS-13 members chase Krazy Horse out of a casino one time..there's been a few run ins with MS-13 members and the horse in KOTC...He beat a member in the cage one time and he immediately was escorted to the back while the pissed off ms-13 rioted..I seen a behemoth of a man double fisted with heavy chairs spinning in a circle knocking multiple old foggy security guards out..it was NUTS

Some people are so jaded they wouldn't believe their ass is hurting if you kicked them in the pants.
