Sources close to the UFC say that either Tim Kennedy or Gegard Mousasi could be Anderson Silva's next opponent for UFC 198, on May 14.

Although he lost to Michael Bisping at UFC Fight Night 84, last Saturday,Anderson Silva came out of the bout almost unscathed and might just get his wish to fight at UFC 198, in his hometown of Curitiba.

According to Combate, who spoke to sources close to the UFC, Silva could apparently be facing either Tim Kennedy or Gegard Mousasi in Brazil.

The 36-year old Kennedy has been away from the Octagon ever since a technical knockout loss to Yoel Romero back in September 2014. Before that, he rode a four-fight winning streak over the likes of Michael Bisping, Rafael Natal, Roger Gracie andAnthony Smith.

Mousasi, who fought on the same night as Anderson Silva in London, defeated Thales Leites by unanimous decision to bounce back from an upset knockout loss to Uriah Hallback in September. The loss snapped a two-fight winning streak he had over Constantinos Philippou and Dan Henderson.

UFC 198 will take place in Curitiba, Brazil, on May 14 at Arena da Baixada, a soccer stadium with capacity for over 40 thousand people. Fabricio Werdum is expected to headline the card in a title fight against contender Stipe Miocic.

I think Tim could possibly grind his way to a win, and i'm not sure at all what to make of the moose fight. That could be good or it could be incredibly lackluster.

Anderson loses both of those fights. what the fuck are him and his management team thinking?

Anderson needs to fight big one off's. a fight with Tim Kennedy does nothing for Anderson but add a L to his record.

If Andy can get put down by a shot from Bisping, he can get put down by a shot from either of these guys. If Kennedy is even interested in fighting these days he should be looking for a title shot, not a fight with this broken down version of the GOAT.

Neither of these really trips my trigger to be honest.I think you need to put Anderson against a real pressure fighter at this point, somebody who you know is going to press the action. Otherwise Silva may just do Master Seagal wing-chun hand defense movements for five rounds...

I hope Anderson wins, I think mousais will be tough, but I think Anderson can beat them both.

He needs another opponent like Forrest, Chael, or Leben. Somebody who comes after him to finish, not just score points. If he gets a point fighter, we'll get the Bisping fight. If he gets a BJJ guy, we get Maia.

It's infuriating how lackadaisical he is when fighting. No pressure whatsoever for 95% of the fight. If the other guy doesn't engage, or does like Bisping and gets in then angles quickly away, he's a terrible fighter to watch. I wish he had as much killer instinct as he does talent. If he did, even now at 40 yrs old, he'd be in title contention.

Him, BJ, GSP, and Nick Diaz are all favorites of mine, but none of them seemed to live up to their potential. It was maddening during their primes, now that their all almost at the end of the road, it's kinda sad...

Definitely agree. Sucks to see someone with so many weapons only occasionally pull the trigger.

Moose will cave his head in and Silva's eyes will not only roll back in his head, they will do a 360.
