Aldo: McGregor's loss an embarrassment

S'all good homie. 😀

...are you high right now?
Bro. Let's not ever mention this again. If I had a time machine that was capable of only going back once in time, to any time for whatever reason, I'd go back 10 minutes and delete that post. I mean I could change history, I could even win the lotto with this time machine, and still.... Ten minutes is all I would need to make things right forever.

Sooo... a resounding yes! 😀

For most fights, I'd agree with you. Remember that sorry ass attempt at hyping the Aldo Mendez 2 fight. Mendez shoved Aldo and Aldo just looked confused. Haha.

However, I really do believe Aldo hates the shit outta mcgregor. That build up got pretty personal and I don't think Aldo's acting skills are that good. Just another fight for mcgregor though. That I do believe.

Aldo just really isn't like that. I've met him and know a couple people who know him. I'm sure he wants his belt back and wants that win back because he's a competitor, but bottom line is he wants to get paid.

I really don't understand the reactions on this thread.

This is what MMA has become. Vapid smack talk to get and hype fights. If you don't get that and think 90% of what comes out of fighters mouths is genuine, you really need to go back to watching WWE.

I'm all for smack talk, but there's a right way and a wrong way to do it. Aldo has largely made himself look like a dummy in the process, and nothing he has said has been witty or has made anyone want to see Aldo/McGregor 2.

He said McGregor had "soap hands" and couldn't punch... so you got KO'd in 13 seconds by a guy with no power?

He talks all this shit, "I'll fight Conor anywhere anytime", his trainer tells everyone that Aldo is training hard incase RDA drops out so he can step in and get his rematch... then he ducks out of the fight.

It's been one of the worst meltdowns after losing I've ever seen in the sport.

It's probably not that hard to shit talk a guy who speaks English at a 3rd grade level and for him to look stupid when he tries to talk shit back in Portuguese then it gets google translated into English

Man, this makes Aldo look like a bitch. He fucking refused to fight! Conor actually fought.

I hope this is just some PR stunt and not who he really is. Not cool.

Out of interest, is this a reference to Aldo pulling out of their first fight?
If so, has it been genuinely proven that Aldo wasn't legitimately injured in that instance?

Yeah I know - Dana White held a press conference with an x-ray in his hand and claimed otherwise, thing is though last time I checked Dana wasn't a medical professional...

Soap hands is a euphemism for the notion that he slipped. He immediately followed up by saying someone dropped a skateboard in. It was obviously a joke but lost in both the portugese translation and the bewildered pull quotes reported in US MMA media.

Also Aldo can't be held accountable for what Dede says. No top ranked fighter who doesn't speak English well will fight anyone anywhere. The Brazilians know how expendable they are in the UFC. Again, that's the WWE mentality. What fighters say is largely meaningless.

The bigger question around Aldo isn't how bad he wants the fight. And after 10 years of dominance, there's no question he deserves to be fighting for the title. The question is whether he can win it. Particularly in the post-USADA era.

No, I'm talking about the offer he was made to fight Conor at UFC 196 after Dos Anjos got injured. Aldo turned it down.

This is pretty much it. Aldo now knows that to get what he wants, he must talk shit no Matter what.

Take it from someone who reigned for 10 years beating the best every step of the way, yet not getting the acknowledgement he deserves. Most of the time, it doesn't pay to be the quiet and strong type. Aldos past numbers have proven this.

Good publicity or not, any publicity is better than none. I think it has finally dawned on Aldo, say anything u can to get the biggest fight u can.

Yup, all that needs to be said.

For a guy who got iced in 13 seconds by Conor (along with pulling out once and refusing the fight once), Aldo talks a lot of shit.

I was a big fan of Aldo for a long time, even after he got KO'd I still supported him because it's the fight game and anyone can get caught. But the way he has acted over the last few months has really soured me on him. Very disgraceful.
And it's not like he was willing to rectify his loss aganst Conor, even though the chance came to do so. Another side-line talker. An embarresment is that you claim to train for someone, then decline that fight. An embarresment is "dropping" your urine sample on your gym floor.

You can thank Chael and Conor for making it so guys who keep quiet and rack up wins get nowhere and guys who talk shit get favorable treatment regardless of their record

Last night I stopped following him on Facebook.......

note:
I started following after the McGregor loss.......

This is so predictable and fake it has turned me away from him

Jose Aldo has lost so much respect from me from his fiasco with McGregor, its's unbelievable. He was clearly one of the greatest ever, and still is to be honest. But what an embarrassing fall from grace he's had with some of these myopic comments. He has handled this KO so poorly, a stark contrast to the way McGregor handled the loss to Nate. Not only was Aldo embarrassing himself because the guy that he's talking shit about just kicked his ass in 13 seconds, but also it's embarrassing in that he's basically trying to copy Conor by making provocative statements to the media to promote the rematch, which he's only doing because he saw Conor do it in previous fights including their own and he made a ton of money because of it. He just looks pathetic.

This is 100% for the Brazilian fans.they eat this shit up.to the rest of us it looks stupid.I wonder how much effect the shit talking loses due to translation
Not a whole lot. It's normally not as strong when translated to English because of cultural differences (e.g. calling someone the word/phrase for pussy in one culture may be more offensive than in another culture).

It's more just Brazilian culture. The country is full of crybaby excuse makers, so he's appealing to that demographic.

In North American/Anglo-Saxon cultures, crying like a little bitch and not acknowledging defeat are seen in a much more negative light.

The idea of Aldo/McGregor 2 is much more exciting to me than Diaz/McGregor 2.

I will probably be going to UFC 200 regardless though.
Don't mind the diaz/mcgregor rematch cuz i'm curious about both having full training camp but not this soon. And especially not for 200.

English is one of the hardest languages to learn. teach rules that don't apply half the time. No accents to properly show to to say a name. So many silent letters. A lot of things that make English tough.
Try your hand at Korean or Russian. Arabic, Greek, or Polish. English is to be found one of the easiest languages to learn, along with Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese, and French. There is a reason why English is everywhere. But then again, he could have a personal struggle with learning a foreign language.

It's really people buying the tickets that should be blamed then. They want to be invested, they want the drama and the conflict.

Who cares if Aldo is talking shit? Think of everything mcgregor said to him for the whole 2015. Constantly disrespecting him, taunting him, taking and wearing his title, etc. Obviously aldo lost to conor, but I understand why he's kicking conor while he's down. Same reason why meisha talked shit after ronda lost to holly. If you talk as much as conor did, things will come around to bite you in the ass

Jose laying it on a lil' thick.....

I hate rematches, but........

(btw, Conor hater here - huge hater) - aldo got ktfo within the timescales provided by Conor and it was vicious. He should shut the fuck up IMO. I liked him on facialbook after his loss and thought he was a good man until this hype campaign started, unliked his page because it's fucking annoying.
