Im judging because it's bullshit to lob such accusations without evidence. BJ will now walk tainted by those that caught the original headlines. You know how this goes with any public accusations. The clearing is never as sexy.

I hear you, but in sexual assault cases, criminal charges are not a referendum on guilt or innocence. I agree with you that Pedro completely mishandled it and even a cursory conversation with a lawyer would have had him keeping his mouth shut if they had a case. My sense is he may have sought legal advice and knew they didn't have a criminal case so he went public as his only recourse.

It may all be lies, but it's hard to imagine there was enough of a motive for it to go down this way. Most of the people who spoke out contrary to Pedro's story are tight in BJ's circle and we know the cult of personality around him, especially in Hilo. We also had the other journalist who spoke out at the time about being there shortly after it went down.

As far as what he does for a living, TMMAC scrapes content from other sites that we find on social media, albeit through human rather than robotic effort, so what's the difference? I'm not really sure how that makes Pedro a scumbag.

Scraping and claiming to be a news outlet is much different than TMMAC imo. I've never seen anyone representing TMMAC claim us to be a news outlet. Just a forum. That's a pretty big difference in my mind. Seems like con artist shit to me.

Yh just because most MMA news media copy paste from twitter and sound like they are a forum, doesn't make us journalists.

Not doing it en masse. Linkbacks and human commentary, combined with a forums ability to coalesce multiple sources into a single chain of discussion. There's a reason we promote linkbacks and limited article portion pasting. We have even removed or altered pasted articles by users in order to maintain click through for content creators. Things like the ticker at the top again gives user a way to see some news while here and still drives traffic out while we hope it spurs discussion.

To the EI credit, it looks like the front-page is full of videos now, so whatever. Those are monetized even when embedded. But I'm not easily forgetting my Facebook (account now closed) flooded with scraped content without sourcing.

Reagan's been training at Jackson's with BJ, so I propose as part of the out of court settlement that Pedro has to accept a fight with the younger Penn brother. If Pedro wins he gets another year of severance and a banner on BJPenn.com, and if he loses he's not allowed to link back to anything BJ Penn ever again.

Pedro seems to be a weirdo. His GF seems to be vain, and also a different kind of but not unrelated weirdo.

But charges not being filed doesn't mean the claims were false. Concluding that would be logically false, though.

Also: fuck you Jeremy Blotter. Please leave MMA altogether, and never have anything to do with it again. And die a horrible death. Did I already say fuck you?

Well, I was in my car and couldn't type this, but I'll keep it short and simple, since this isn't anything groundbreaking. I'm not that active on the forums, but Sherdog was one of the first sites I ever visited when following MMA, so I like to stay true to where I've always roamed.
Anyway, yes, I'm a partner in that website. My other partner used to run BJPenn.com up until BJ went on a massive cocaine binge and messed everything up. I do train at ATT and our site is a valid source for news on many camps, not just ATT. I don't normally contribute on day to day things, and am more of a silent partner, but of course I did stick up for the site in another thread, as we were the first ones to break RDA/McGrregor, confirmed JDS/Rothwell before the UFC announced it, etc.

One other thing, the story referenced by the TS was not published. It was "permalinked" since a draft was created but not published, then (before it was published) the body of the article was changed as was the headline, when more info became available. That's all that happened.
