When I started out I was kinda reaching for exciting match ups, but when I got to the heavyweight division, I had so many possible match ups it was almost confusing!

Makwan Amirkhani vs Diego Brandao - Brandao has fought tougher guys so he wins via experience and pressure
Cole Miller vs Charles Oliveira - Cole isn't getting better IMO and Oliveira has a better ground game and I see that being the difference
Cole Miller vs Makwan Amirkhani - Again not sure about Makwan so I'll take Cole
Charles Oliveira vs Max Holloway - Holloway should be able to defend well enough off his back but should be able to out point him on the feet while trying to keep it standing
Denis Siva vs Jeremy Stephens - Stephens is good at 145 now and his power will stop most of the guys not in the top 5
Frankie Edgar vs Chad Mendes - I think Chad beats all at 145 but Jose, I'll see how Conor looks vs Aldo before adding to the list as well.
Frankie Edgar vs Uriah Faber(Scheduled) - This fight will more than likely end in a UD and Frankie doesn't lose on points often. Both have good cardio but Frankies is better and will land way more shots while defending the takedown and sub attempts.

Lightweight
Eddie Alvarez vs Myles - Jury Tough call, if Eddie doesn't win he only has a few good fights left imo.
Josh Thomson vs Jim Miller - I see Jim being able to corner and pound out a W via TKO or UD. I like Josh but I think he's thought about retiring too much to stay focused enough to be a top 5 guy and Jim will be too much pressure.
Jim Miller vs Al Iaquinta - I just think Jim is tougher and will beat him, not sure how.
Bobby Green vs Jorge Masvidal - Green also seems to not be a guy super focused lately. Masvidals last win wasn't amazing but I haven't been super impressed with Green yet. Win via UD
Gilbert Melendes vs Michael Johnson - This would be a great fight. Gilbert is awesome but I think he's peaked already while MJ keeps getting better each outing with his ability to mix up his total MMA game. I'd bet on Gil just for the great experience he's had but wouldn't be surprised to see MJ beat him.
Eddie Alvarez vs Josh Thomson - Another good fight. Both guys are wrapping up exciting careers, I picked Eddie just because I like him more and hope he'd win.

Welterweight
Gunnar Nelson vs Kelvin Gastelum - Isn't KG going to 185?
Tarec Saffiedine vs Hector Lombard - Im curious to see Hector fight after his bust. I picked him based on what I've seen and I'm sure it's always been horsemeat fueled so....
Dong Hyun Kim vs Jake Ellenberger - Jake is a WW gate keeper at this point I'd say. DHK is a big dude who shpuld be able to force Jake to make mistakes and capitalize getting a TKO late in the 2nd.

Matt Brown vs Carlos Condit - If Carlos healed up well then theres not too many WWs that beat him. Would like to see him vs Rory 2 asap.
Demian Maia vs Gunnar Nelson - Maia via smother/sub.

Middleweight
Gegard Mousasi vs Yoel Romero - Gegard has a case of the Crocops since he came to the UFC. I hate it because he's so good but looks extremely hesitant every fight so far. I see Yoels size and wrestling being the difference here.

Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza vs Yoel Romero(scheduled) Souza is title challenger worthy IMO. More than likely turns into a ground fight and Souza has more ways to threaten and finish plus he has superior cardio.

Vitor Belfort vs Chris Weidman(Scheduled) - This is Chris' fight to lose here but I'm praying to every version of Jesus/God that Vitor can kick his head into the 4th row then vacate the belt and ride off into the sunset.

Lyoto Machida vs Luke Rockhold(Scheduled) - Very tough call and awesome fight. Luke is a huge MW, hits hard and can usually man handle his opponent once it goes to the mat. Having said that Machida should be able to counter any big shots coming his way and if Luke gets too close the trips Lyoto has are fucking deadly. I see lots of circling and backing away as usually then quick strikes with great timing from Lyoto, same ol really. All it takes is that one shot Rockhold doesn't see coming and Lyoto will finish right after. I really don't see Luke being able to sub or out point Lyoto and a KO is unlikely.

Ryan Bader vs Rashad Evans - Bader......what happened to him after Jones embarrassed him? Rashad via better wrestling, cardio, speed, strength......
Patrick Cummings vs Fabio Maldonado - Another up and comer who will wrestle fuck the shit out of a walking punching bag. Fabio is exciting but too one dimentional

Roy Nelson vs Ben Rothwell - Roy will land the OHR against Ben. We all saw that Roy is indestructible most nights.
Stefan Struve vs Antonio Bigfoot Silva - TRT free BF is going to be a HW jobber IMO
Matt Mitrione vs Andre Arvloski - AA is getting some good momentum and is just better overall, only concern is his chin against a reckless Meathead when he gets in trouble.

Andre Arvloski vs Josh Barnett - Josh will close the gap and put AA on his back I'd guess, I'd like to see AA win but I don't see how he can keep it standing enough to score points or finish.

Josh Barnett vs Ben Rothwell - Takes Ben down and hurts him all night.
Josh Barnett vs Travis Browne 2 - Stupid mistake by Josh the first fight and Travis seems to be hard to predict. I'd never put money on Browne after Werdum owned him.
Frank Mir vs Josh Barnett - Guessed, both guys are so battle tested and worn its tough.
Frank Mir vs Fabricio Werdum - Werdum kills him at this point.
Stipe Miocic vs Travis Browne - Stipe jab and jogs for the 1st and 2nd and hopes Brown tires enough to put him away via TKO in the 3rd. Miocic is better on the feet and his fight against JDS showed big heart and a good chin.
Alistair Overeem vs JDS - If this happened 2 years ago I'd guess JDS without hesitation. Now JDS doesn't look as sharp and Overeem seems to be putting some thought into game planning finally. Alistair wins with patience and big power as this wont go to the ground unless he chooses to.
JDS vs Werdum 2 - Werdum redeems himself. I hate going against JDS but he did nothing against Stipe to make me feel he's back into title contention.
Mark Hunt vs Alistair Overeem 2 - Greg Jackson will make this a super boring fight and squeak out a UD while getting Overeem to do anything to avoid the pocket and get KOd.
Josh Barnett vs Big Nog the trilogy - Big Nog is done, sorry.
Stipe Miocic vs Travis Browne - Stipe with crisper fast hands and better footwork.

I totally blanked out that fight. I think I did so on purpose as after looking online I remembered the fight and feel we were robbed of a decisive victory. Frank was down, but not out. Not playing favorites as I love both guys, I just REALLY wanted to see those to grapple and the fight be won for whoever was the better ground fighter.

Roy Nelson vs Ben Rothwell - Roy will land the OHR against Ben. We all saw that Roy is indestructible most nights.
Stefan Struve vs Antonio Bigfoot Silva - TRT free BF is going to be a HW jobber IMO
Matt Mitrione vs Andre Arvloski - AA is getting some good momentum and is just better overall, only concern is his chin against a reckless Meathead when he gets in trouble.

Andre Arvloski vs Josh Barnett - Josh will close the gap and put AA on his back I'd guess, I'd like to see AA win but I don't see how he can keep it standing enough to score points or finish.

Josh Barnett vs Ben Rothwell - Takes Ben down and hurts him all night.
Josh Barnett vs Travis Browne 2 - Stupid mistake by Josh the first fight and Travis seems to be hard to predict. I'd never put money on Browne after Werdum owned him.
Frank Mir vs Josh Barnett - Guessed, both guys are so battle tested and worn its tough.
Frank Mir vs Fabricio Werdum - Werdum kills him at this point.
Stipe Miocic vs Travis Browne - Stipe jab and jogs for the 1st and 2nd and hopes Brown tires enough to put him away via TKO in the 3rd. Miocic is better on the feet and his fight against JDS showed big heart and a good chin.
Alistair Overeem vs JDS - If this happened 2 years ago I'd guess JDS without hesitation. Now JDS doesn't look as sharp and Overeem seems to be putting some thought into game planning finally. Alistair wins with patience and big power as this wont go to the ground unless he chooses to.
JDS vs Werdum 2 - Werdum redeems himself. I hate going against JDS but he did nothing against Stipe to make me feel he's back into title contention.
Mark Hunt vs Alistair Overeem 2 - Greg Jackson will make this a super boring fight and squeak out a UD while getting Overeem to do anything to avoid the pocket and get KOd.
Josh Barnett vs Big Nog the trilogy - Big Nog is done, sorry.
Stipe Miocic vs Travis Browne - Stipe with crisper fast hands and better footwork.

Thank you very much for not only participating, but for breaking down each match up. I'd say I agree to strongly agree with most of your assessments. Not sure about Faber/Frankie though. Frankie for sure has lost close decisions and Faber only loses in title fights so if this stands true, Expect to see Frankie finished which is super hard to do. Now that I typed that, I go back to my original statement not sure about Faber/frankie.

Also, I was close to mentioning Rory/Condit but due to Rory already fighting and Condit being off a layoff, I'd want Condit to get a warm up win first before fighting top 2/top3 Rory Macdonald.

Speaking of Rory, did you hear his latest interview? How he's a purist and prefers limited rules that allow kicks/knees to downed opponent and headbutts? Dude won me some points there.

How do you see Gunnar/Maia playing out? I think it would be a chess match, and the majority of the fight would be on the feet because Gunnar's grappling is so good. Seeing how badly Maia tends to fade, and how poor his striking is, I think Gunnar would end up winning a decisive UD.

Frankie Edgar vs Chad Mendes is the most compelling matchup for me. I want to see this fight more than any other fight in any division. They both are sort of wrestler/boxer type fighters but Chad's striking and wrestling is fast and explosive whereas Frankie is more of a stick n move striker and slick/grinding type wrestler. I think Chad has faster hands and Frankie will not be able to take him down. I favor Chad here, but Frankie winning would not surprise me in the least.

Lightweight
Of the matchups listed, I think the most exciting fight would be Melendez vs Johnson. I agree with @BirdWatcher that Melendez has peaked. I don't see him beating anyone in the top 5 the rest of his career, but he is a game fighter and i like his aggression. I think Johnson is slowly becoming one of the most complete fighters in the division. I think Johnson nullifies his wrestling and boxes him up.

However, Al Iaquinta is now my favorite fighter! I want to see him vs everyone.

Matt Brown vs Carlos Condit please. This is the kind of matchmaking the fans want. Refined striking vs "technical brawling". You know what you're getting with Matt Brown. He is coming straight forward with violent intentions. Condit should be able to negate the aggression with better footwork. Brown has to cut him off him, push him up against the cage and keep him in front of him. I think Condit will be able to win the battle via counter striking.

Facking typical, we were always nicely uniformed ( though, remember "all stars" one year when, people couldn't figure out who the hell we were because our uniforms were all mismatched) but were quite happy to fight if you breathed or even attempted to breathe.......... and forced one to breathe if one wasn't so inclined........

Melendes vs Johnson, that is probably the best fight from the lot and it will be interesting to see if Johnson can crack the top guys. His kickboxing game is improving leaps and bounds.

Brown and Condit would be a war that could end at any time, very exciting. However, it isn't often you get to see 2 such high level BJJ players compete in MMA, as Gunnar vs Maia.

Machida vs Rockhold is a great fight and probably the closest from the lot.
