Even if Brock Lesnar's UFC return is a one-off, he'll still be subject to in- and out-of-competition drug testing, the UFC said Tuesday in a statement.

Lesnar's name was entered by USADA into the UFC's anti-doping policy testing pool Monday ahead of his fight at UFC 200, according to UFC senior vice president of public relations Dave Sholler. Lesnar did not officially sign his UFC and bout agreement until Friday, so he could not have started the anti-doping policy process any sooner, Sholler said. Lesnar and the UFC had been in discussions for months, but Lesnar needed the go-ahead from WWE, which prolonged the process, Sholler said.

"UFC, however, did notify Lesnar in the early stages of discussions that if he were to sign with the UFC, he would be subject to all of the anti-doping rules," Sholler said in a statement. "Lesnar and his management have now been formally educated by USADA on the policy, procedures and expectations."

UFC senior vice president of athlete health and performance Jeff Novitzky flew to Saskatchewan this weekend to meet with Lesnar to explain the policy, according to Sholler.

Interesting he can enter the USADA process this late for ufc 200. Dana made a comment about conor when he said he would retire about it delaying a future bout should he decide to come back. It was a 3-4 month delay from what I can recall, so he could get back into the system and be subject to random tests prior to a bout. I hope fighters are aware of this apparent lie now.

From mmafighting's article:

In the event McGregor followed through on his threat to retire, and then later decided to return, he would be subjected to testing for a four-month period before he would once again be allowed to compete.

On Wednesday's edition of the FOX Sports 1 show UFC Tonight, White said he's yet to receive a formal retirement notice from McGregor.

"If Conor McGregor is truly retired, he would have to take four months off before, it would take you four months to come back, because of USADA. You can't just say, now that you have random drug testing, after however long you're out, just say ‘okay, now I'm back.'

When hunt is done with him he'll look like the remains of Mr. Stay Puft covered in whatever remained of his strawberry jam after Frank Mir stole a bunch.

This is a one-off.
IF he is tested, whenever that occurs, the results will come back afterward, and the payday will eclipse the negotiated fine 6 months from now.

This was unintentionally good timing on my part, as Timehop just informed me the Ghostbusters was released 32 years ago today.
