Brock Lesnar reportedly was tested five times after initial testing data was released by UFC anti-doping partner USADA.

Today, the promotion announced that Lesnar failed an out-of-competition test conducted June 28, or 11 days prior to his fight against Mark Hunt at UFC 200 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The positive test was reported by the WADA-accredited UCLA Olympic Analytical Laboratory on July 14, five days after the event.

took weeks to get the result back. Roughly the same time it took from the June 16th Bones test.
I bet there's more news coming for Jones. I'm sure he was tested a couple times after 6/16.

Most likely that will happen. My question is why does it take a couple weeks to always get the results back?

"The UFC organization was notified today that the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) has informed Brock Lesnar of a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation stemming from an out-of-competition sample collection on June 28, 2016. USADA received the testing results from the June 28, 2016 sample collection from the WADA-accredited UCLA Olympic Analytical Laboratory on the evening of July 14, 2016.

"USADA, the independent administrator of the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, will handle the results management and appropriate adjudication of this case. It is important to note that, under the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, there is a full fair legal review process that is afforded to all athletes before any sanctions are imposed. The Nevada State Athletic Commission also retains jurisdiction over this matter as the sample collection was performed in close proximity to Lesnar’s bout at UFC 200 in Las Vegas.

"Consistent with all previous potential anti-doping violations, additional information will be provided at the appropriate time as the process moves forward."

Because they test. Then test multiple times again if there is a positive, to ensure the results.

Another question
At what point is the sport of MMA damaged beyond repair as a result of all these tests? The mainstream media is gonna soon start to run with all these stories.

Ok I'm clueless about this but shouldn't it take like 10 seconds once the sample is put through the system.

I defended Brock quite a bit on here because I think some people were being recklessly accusatory and even I laughed out loud when I read this news.

Not this comprehensive of a test. Back in the day it was a lot less complicated but certain things take a lot of time to find.

How can you get a 4 month exemption and still fail a piss test lol? I know he was being tested after, but you would think he wouldn't take anything after that exemption. If i was making millions to fight, the only thing entering my body would be water, chicken, brown rice and broccoli.

I dont know those details. Apparently it takes a few days to complete a test. So say they collect a sample on 6/14. It gets to the lab on 6/15. They test it on 6/16. They determine results on 6/18. They retest on 6/19. Get those results back on 6/20. Retest again on 6/21. Get those results back on 6/22. If they test one additional time, that's roughly 10 days...and I'm sure the wheels at USADA aren't moving this quickly. Then add a couple days in there to inform the commission & for the promotion to release something to the press. 3 weeks is probably about right.

Of course, I'm pulling all of that out of my ass.
