Cautiously optimistic...

The fact they didn'tchange the story to a transgendered teen angst coming of age tale, and actually kept the same sstoryline, is.... refreshing.

I don't think anyone here would pass on seeing GSP double wield swords.

I was sold at Gina Carano and JCVD as Master Durand.

Joe Shilling and Joseph Valtellini also have roles as well as Tyron Woodley.

Could you guys explain why not to watch without any spoilers? Por Favor. :D I'm a huge fan of the original Kickboxer and Jcvd respectively. Also most of the Actual fighters in the movie. Just wondering how they could fk it up that bad.. I want to watch but I don't want to be bummed out either.

If you've seen the original than there's not much to spoil.

They flew through the story without explaining much, the main character's love interest for starters.

Everyone that was in it was awful. I know athletes generally don't make great actors but these performances were especially bad. Two didn't even speaking roles and they were making me and my friend laugh. There were some fighters mentioned to be in it that must have been cut or were incredibly hidden.
Even JCVD wasn't that great. He's usually a cheesy actor but he's better than what turned out here.

The fight scenes were nothing special and some of the moves were taken directly from other movies.

There were boobs in it, so there's that.

I guess I wouldn't stop anyone from seeing it but I suggest going in with low expectations and spend as little money as possible to view it.

Everyone should go watch "Jean Claude Van Johnson" instead of or after "Kickboxer Vengence" for some sweet JCVD.

I have a feeling they've taken a scene out of a Bruce lee film. Am I wrong?

Ong Bak was the first one that came to mind.
There were probably some Bruce Lee moments but I can't bring myself to watch again to confirm.

Watched it today. It was...tolerable. Not decent, not very enjoyable, but it had a few moments.

GSP's "I AM NOT IMPREZZED WITH YOUR PERFORMANZE" line was the best part of the movie

But honestly, weight classes exist for a reason. Bautista outweighed Moussi by a good 70 pounds at least. He would have gotten tired way quicker than that, too, given how much muscle mass he had. In body mass alone...

The narrative structure was also a mess, I don't get it with stylized flashbacks. Just tell a bloody story from start to finish already. No need to have a few things, and then go back, and then a few more things, and then go back a little more.

I even liked the ong bak sequels even though the story was wild AF and bizarre.
yep...the dialogue is secondary lol...the brilliant athleticism of tony and fights scenes are,the best I've ever seen honestly
