Say we spend the rest of the week looking for a kid dying of some incurrable disease, old lady who's all alone having just lost her husband, dog thats going to get put down because owners cant afford surgery and once we have agreed on the recipient all throw in whatever we can afford to help them out without them ever knowing it was us?

Im pretty right with money at the moment but I can throw in $100 , you can throw in more or less depending n your situation. I reckon all the money that was going to be spent on secret santa needs to be siphoned into this venture.

Seeing as I suggested it, if this gains any legs Im not allowed to nominate a recipient just in case im trying to rip everyone off.

What says you guys?

Well thats a call I cant make as per my OP, im sure you guys will work something out. Let me know when youve decided and ill kick in.

A big part of this is the individual not knowing where it came from just that luck is some times on their side. Not hard to achieve if we go with a dog but for humans is what im getting at.

I will not be supporting any cat related donations

Do you know any? it would be great to be able to give mum and/or dad money to blow on their kids and say it was all them.

Im happy to go as far as making my kids go without (for the first time in their lives) a christmas gift if that means putting in more than $100, they would 99% agree to it too

I say we all take the next couple of weeks and see if we can find a way to help someone. Doesn't matter what part of the world it's in, as far as I'm concerned. I just want to make sure 100% of the money goes directly to a family that's 100% in need. I think for right now, we pledge $10 per person, with a goal of 30 people. Then we can look into giving more per person, if needed to reach said goal. $300 would go a long way for a family of 4 that's in need, regardless of what country they live in.

Thoughts? This is your baby, so I don't want to take it over...just kicking ideas around.

Yeah lets do that, anything in excess of $300 is a bonus. Ive got nothing in terms of suggestions cause everyone I know is pretty well off

I'm in China til January so I wouldn't be able to deliver anything.

I'm happy to throw in, the only problem I have is sending money.

I've recently set up PayPal but can't use it because my name is written backwards on my Chinese bank account and doesn't match the format for PayPal.

If anyone can think of another way for me to send money then I'm in.
