Underrated movies thread

Totally agree. Stallone was great in that movie. The character demanded an actor being able to sell the action scenes yet display sensitivity, crucial to some scenes especially the final one with the colonel. He nailed it there. You could feel the character was broken and had enough.
... They drew first blood
The following movies were just obvious follow ups for commercial purposes. Understandable but meh.... Although the second one was interesting to a certain level. See, for the second Rambo movie, they had Cosmatos for director. The guy mostly directed horror or action movies. He wasn't a master but not bad either. He could get the job done. So for Rambo 2 it was funny to see that he used filming techniques often associated with horror movies; basically, Rambo was filmed just liked the monsters that would appear out of nowhere to kill its victims this time though we're cheering for him cuz he's the good guy. Etc.
The very last Rambo was good fun too. You could tell there was a lot of self-conscious irony in that movie. Stallone was indulging the fans and boy did he! It was so over the top. Loved it for that purpose.
I'm a former film major so I could go on and on but I'll stop before this turns into a FRAT post.

Although not entirely under the radar, I thought they were very good, and not given due.
Tomorrowland showed the more tolerable, likeable Coen brothers version of Clooney.
Ben Stiller is hard pressed to be anyone other than himself when not in a Goofy character, but the story of Walter Mitty itself was a good one.

Criminally underrated film and possibly the best talking head film since My Dinner with Andre.
Also, In the Bedroom with Tom Wilkinson, Sissy Spacek and Marisa Tomei. Nominated for an Oscar then promptly forgotten.
And Love Jones with Larenz Tate, Nia Long and Bill Bellamy. This film is sacred among black people of a certain generation, but needs to appreciated by a wider audience.

It's called 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi
I can only guess why it was kept out of the spotlight this year, unlike other's in the past.
It is 144 minutes, so kinda long for some people. War movies are among my favorite sub-genre's. I'm about to watch it for the 3rd time this week.

Miller's Crossing, right up there with all the best gangster movies IMO
Topless Thora Birch.. that's something amazing and underrated.
The people who've seen it know it's great, but I never see it brought up when people are talking gangster movies!
