The movies, tv shows and recent books are canon. All the old expanded universe is legends.
Haven't really followed the shows or read any new books. But aren't there more Sith around in those too? Grand Inquisitor or something? Sounds pretty high and important to me.

Another question I have is, Anakin was supposed to bring balance to the force. And the Jedi thought that meant him being 'good', how exactly?
The Jedi were huge and powerful and didn't even believe there were any Sith around, at least not in the open. So what kind of balance did they hope for? :D

Didn't he kinda bring balance by having Yoda/Obi (+ Luke) vs Sidious/Vader, to make it simple?
One opinion is that the Jedi got it wrong and that balance to the force was fewer Jedis.
I find the prequels just muddied everything up.

Grand Inquisitor was the leader of a band of jedi hunters. Their group was tasked with hunting down the remaining jedi that survived order 66. They have ties to the dark side but aren't technically Sith, is my understanding.
I think there's only ever a master and an apprentice in the Sith but there's always dark side sensitives waiting in the wings.

Which really breaks the rule as Bane wanted it to be. At least if the others are powerful.

Well, lets see what direction they take.

Wait, didn't Maul with spiderlegs come back or something? How would he fit in that rule? He clearly was Sidious' apprentice.

Maul with regular legs is in the cartoon. He doesn't consider himself a Sith and/or wants to take the Padawan in the show as an apprentice.

SW just pisses me off now. I didn't like the last 4 movies, those 4 just magnified the flaws of the first 3 to me, and they wiped away the expanded universe.

Over it.

He was but when he re-appeared on The Clone Wars. He's no longer Sith. He's out for revenge against Sidious.

He re-appeared with spiderlegs but traded them in for more traditional mechanical legs.

I agree...to a point. Lucas dropped the ball with the prequels. They were bad. There was potential but classic Lucas made strange changes and then we got what we got.
I thought Force Awakens was fantastic though.

Luke was training Kylo until he turned to the dark side but I think Kylo is hunting Skywalker for Snoke.

There's a theory that Snoke is Mace Windu.

I havent read many of the books. The old books aren't part of the star wars mythos anymore but they seem to be borrowing from them.

My guess is Rey is Ben Kenobi's granddaughter. I don't think she has any relation to the Skywalkers.
The Mace Windu thing is interesting but why would he become a murdourous, tyrant? Because the badguys nearly killed him? Not much motivation there.

Rey is Palpatine's granddaughter: This theory is interesting just because of the very specific choice of lightsaber technique

I want Chewie to rip that wimpy little fucks arms off.

That teaser trailer however isn't filling my with a lot of hope for this movie.
