The Return of Lee Murray?

He's just one of those people that has a destiny larger than your average life, no matter what he does/did/could have done.

He reminds me of someone.
Yes, but there's just something about him. Something around the eyes, I don't know, reminds me of...... .......ME!
No. I'm sure of it.
I hate him.

Apparently Mr. Murray's an educated man.

Now I really hate him!

The book that was written on this is great. Basically would have been clear if a couple of dumb fucks didn't leave the boiler suits in their fucking flat.......also, the U.K. Underground gangsters were pissed of he didn't "run this by them"..........so, he had that going against him also. He apparently refused to cut anyone else in on it.....

1) Name of the book, please?
2) Which gangsters? Lol. Murray was as gangster as they come.

1. It's been a while but I believe it's this one Amazon product ASIN 1847390552View: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Heist-Story-Worlds-Biggest-Robbery-x/dp/1847390552

2. @Leigh will know better than me but from reading about various gangsters and criminals throughout the world and Britain, there are some nastier than Lee (like I know him, not lol) in Britain and with what I can only describe as having a team of criminals under them and you just don't want to get on the wrong side of them. Kent is a place where a decent amount tend to come from from the books I read

There were too many people involved for the heist to ever succeed IMO. No way in hell all that was going to be kept under wraps.
Yet a significant sum has not been located, so one could assume that lee will be set when he is released (provided he renaissance in a country he cannot be extradited from, and those funds are within husband reach).

Ran into one of Lee's old boxing coaches here in Vegas back in 2010/11 area. Was an interesting fellow who really believed that Lee was just the hired muscle and the rest turned on him to get lesser sentences.

Lee was considered the mastermind of the heist, correct?
That's the picture the book painted.....in understanding the others (from the books perspective) and how they looked up to lee and how they were all errand boys and how inept and careless the others were.....that's a yes.

He sent Paul Allen and one of the others up to Chesterfield to order/get the belt cameras and the two drove back at over 110 mph.....got pulled over by cops and car was impounded.....before the heist
One (it's been a while since I read it) of them left his fucking boiler suit in his flat along with his gloves and mask......

Lee Murray took the majority of the money and had already fled the country....

Are you referring to Terry?

There was an epic thread on Sherdog about Murray. Written by one of his team mates / gang members. Can't remember which.

Ah unfortunately Dexter seems to have deleted the best posts. What a shame. He was the right hand man with Lee. Big dude if i remember. Worked in finance

Ok I'll try do this now but I'm on my mobile and the predictive text has a mind of its own plus I'm tired as hell after a long long shift....

So first time I ever saw that Lee Murray was 100% as gangster and lock stock as the rumours made out was at a local MMA event in the UK.

I was there with my team. I can't remember if i was cornering or whatever but I'm pretty sure that Paul Daley was on the card and our guys won thier fights.

It was a MMACUK or something at a strip joint in Essex which had a low ceiling and lots of glass pillars with a ring in the middle surrounding by vip tables where the local tough mofos would have thier kids get splattered with blood from the ring and think that was cool.

Also it was full of smoke as people could smoke indoors there. I nearly had a few straighteners myself lol but that's another story and I'm no street fighter. But the bouncers were assholes. And to be quite frank I was intimidated and backed down, so there you go...

Anyhow this story shows you not only how tough Lee was but also what a stand up guy he could be.

A well known UK MMA guy was cornering one of his fighters, my memory is a bit rusty but I think it was a De Souza (don't hold me to that) but anyhow whilst he's cornering his fighter one of the bouncers bottled him. Now let me rewind a second...

Remember when I said local tough guys etc? Well really my experience was a few of these bouncers and their friends were complete c**ts. Going out of their way to stare you down. The typical "what you fucking looking at??" mob. Small time criminals you know the type. It's Essex and is the doors and these guys moonlight as muscle for actual gangsters so have an attitude.

Can't remember if that night they had their steroided up mate fight in the cage or not but it happened and it was a travesty of popping veins, muscles screaming for oxygen and heavy breathing with no skill... anyhow I digress...

So De Souza (I think) has been bottled for for no good reason WHILST CORNERING HIS STUDENT FFS!! And as you would expect there is a whole bunch of confusion. The fighters who are trying to fight are getting distracted by the shouting and jostling at the corner of the ring as bouncers surge forward trying to throw De Souza out the venue whilst his fighter is fighting!!!

In steps Lee. Now Lee hasn't done this because he has strong ties to Souza I don't think, he's done it because it's bullshit and the bouncers are out of line. I can't tell you exactly what happened by the ring but it's definitely on film somewhere. The fighters stop fighting and start trying to get involved.

I don't know who calmed things down but the only person shouting is Lee and he manages get the bouncers (more than one, I'd say three big guys) to agree to step outside the fire exit doors with him.

Now the venue has gone from a near riot to lots of excited chatter. The fire exit doors are a large set of double doors the other side of the ring and as soon as they shut behind Lee and those bouncers we hear Lee screaming threats and loud banging like someone's head is being smashed against those doors.

The entire venue goes silent. The only thing that can be heard is Lee and the banging and smashing against those doors. Bouncers from all over the venue rush to back up thier colleagues and more shouting and more banging can be heard.

Some time passes with the entire venue listening intently. Apart from the ruckus on the other side of that door you could have heard a pin drop.

Finally the door opens and out walks Lee with a face like thunder followed by a steady stream of bouncers nursing injuries with thier tails between thier legs. He literally lit up all the bouncers at the venue. Most of them were big wanna be tough guys probably enforcers for essex gangs or thought they were at least

END

Sorry if i got names wrong. My memory is not that sharp. I'll ask a few people I was there with who it was.

But one thing it was was fucking epic. He took on every bouncer their. I think he had a few people with him out there but over time memory can play tricks on you.

Hope you liked it. If you did donate $5 to my fund haha 🙂
