The two heavyweights will meet in the co-main event of Bellator 180 on June 24 at New York City’s Madison Square Garden, MMA Fighting has confirmed after it was first reported by the New York Post on Monday.

Ya, I'm of the same belief and personally don't care who headlines as long as we get to see both fights. My thought was it would be harder to sell Fedor vs Matt as headline of a PPV when they were supposed to fight already on a free card. Stickly from a marketing standpoint.

Friends arguement was Fedor Vs Matt is Heavier weight class and Fedor is the greatest of all time and deserves to be headliner.

Love the fight and the card and the fact that it is a ppv attempt, but it is ridiculous that this is the co-main. GOAT vs legit HW co-main ... Trash talker who never won anything vs 40y.o. Wand who hasn't fought in 3 years or so, main. Ridiculous.

Has it been announced as five rounds or three? Imo there was a health issue for Mitrione, they wouldn't want to have a main event fall through if there's another problem, the fight may have just changed to three rounds so that is a big factor, and Chael is a proven ratings + ppv grabber - it makes sense.

The only thing that annoys me is that it's ppv. :-(

Glad for the company if they can make money, though.

I wonder how they're going to stack this card? Will they show the prelims on spike, and the main card on PPV? They should have Douglas Lima vs Lorenz Larkin on this card; I heard they were going to place Chandler vs Pitbull 3, but thats stupid. Pitbull looked great against Thomson, but he just lost to Chandler a year ago. They should have that fight on a different card. Im guessing Phil Davis vs Bader will be on this card too. I get Bellator wants to bring in as many viewers as possible, but they should really put some talent and meaningful fights on here. I sense Bellator 149 all over again, a bunch of names and shit fights. They should put some of their champions worth remembering and their prospects.

Their first (and up to this point only) PPV under Bjorn broke 100k, so yeah- I see this passing 200 easily.

I don't know about the rest of you, but 200k is my magic number. I feel that anything under 200k would be thought of as underwhelming.

I understand why they have wandy vs chael headlining. They have real beef, and chael could sell casuals anything. Casuals like a good back story.
