How did that become a requirement to be liberal?

Especially the open-borders portion.

Trump and Bernie Sanders are against open borders so I just don't see how that should be a left and right issue.

It's a globalist versus nationalist position, right?

I thought liberals would be against a glut of cheap labor used by multinationals to flood the domestic labor pool and undermine the local populace demanding higher wages and working conditions.

The thing with the canadian liberal party is that they've always used immigration for election purposes (ethnic pandering if you allow me). Way back during Trudeau sr days they created the multicultural act in order to attract the immigrants vote. They mostly came from Europe namely Italy Greece and Portugual.

Now Canada's main sources of immigration seem to come from "Asia" or beacons of enlightenment such as Pakistan... and Justin does what his dad did in the 70s. Tons of videos abound.

So no, canadian liberals would let people in regardless.

We are talking Canadian politics here, try to keep up Splinty.

The Liberals are our Federal party in power. The Liberals ran a campaign which promised to bring in thousands of Syrian refugees and to help them settle into Canadian society.

The leader of the Liberal Party, Justin Trudeau is a self proclaimed feminist and proud supporter of Canada's multicultural mosaic.

I am just surprised someone who is openly against allowing refugees into our country, open boarders, multiculturalism and feminism would vote for the Liberal Party when he does not support any of those mentioned values.

But then again, I am not actually that surprised, the lack of understanding of politics and tendency to engage in herd mentality should have been a red flag I guess

I didnt say Jack Layton was ever the PM.

I said the last NDP leader in govt power. Jack Layton was the party leader when the NDP held a minority govt power in Canada.
Do you mean he was the leader of the official opposition dawg and thus had considerable influence on the balance of power especially re no confidence votes?

Also Freeloading Rusty @MC Gusto layton was leader of the opposition after the 2011 election in which Harper won a majority. Ignatieff was the last leader of the opposition during the minority years

Mutherfucking Wikipedia up in here.

Im far from an NDP historian. I am not even sure where the idea I am such a hardcore NDP supporter came from. I think it was an assumption based of my criticisms of Trump?

Ignatieff, I forgot about those salty balls.

Maybe he's not a single issue voter so he didn't care enough about refugees for it to effect his vote, or maybe he is a single issue voter (legal pot) and that's why he voted for them. It isn't actually still a secret to anyone that they won the election on the promises of pot and electoral reform, is it?

I was just wondering if this is because the honeymoon has been running a little stale lately.
No, the honeymoom running stale is why we're going to get some "evidence based" gun laws. Have to keep those children safe.

Well he has already stated he feels Mulcair's plan for marijuana was better and hasnt mentioned voter reform (which JT failed us on).

I gave 4 examples of where I felt he disagreed with the Liberals platform, not just the refugee issue.

And he stated he voted for them to "stop Harper".

That is true. Herd mentality. I didn't expect you to drink the lefty flavoured kool-aid.

I still don't get it, if you agree with PC values why so many anti Harper sentiments?

Coming from the guy who voted in the left of center party to get out the ruling party on the right.

I'm concerned you might suffer from multiple personality disorder. You should see you local family physician.
