I did a search and couldn't find a dedicated horror movie thread, so figured I'd make one

I occasionally post on other horror forums and another mma horror movie thread, but this is my favorite place to discuss, fuck, pretty much everything, so let's get this thing going

I watch mostly documentaries and horror movies and have since I was probably about 9 or 10 years old (horror movies, docs came in a bit later)
In the horror genre I'll watch anything from big production, found footage, aliens, paranormal, cheap scares, all the way down to absolute Indy shit like the August Underground trilogy
I'll watch it all

So what has been on the menu lately?
In the past 2 days I've watch, A dark Song, the Devils Candy and Raw
I'm not going to give spoilers but I will give my impressions and ratings for each
A Dark Song - I really enjoyed this, it has a lot to do with magik and I loved the ending
Not too many scares but I also wouldn't show it to a 10 year old.
7.5/10

The Devils Candy - staring Ethan Embry (funny dude from empire records and emo dude from can't hardly wait)
Another one in the positive section. it was a really fun ride with some great artistic aspects and the acting was overall really good.
There was something that threw me off a bit though, I think they went a little too over the top sometimes with the artistic touches but in the end, it kept my attention and is something I'd recommend
7/10

Raw - FUCK YES!!!!
I have been waiting for a good copy of this since it hit festivals
I'm not going to overkill it, but people did pass out during screenings of it, 1 scene in particular. if you liked French movies like Inside, High Tension or Martyrs (my 2nd favorite horror movie in a long fucking time), SEE THIS MOVIE NOW
Its fucking unbelievable this came from a freshman writer/director.
Honestly when it 1st ended, I was impressed but not as much as I am today, for some reason I'm still thinking about it, asking myself questions and finding different symbolism in it
It is definitely grousome, its smart, its sexy, it's beautiful, it's my number 1 horror of 2016, just and I mean just ahead of train to Busan
9/10

I remember seeing a preview a while back for a horror flick that poked cool. Looked like a young couple in a creepy house with a blind guy, any idea?

Just watched Get Out the other night. I liked it.

I second recommending Don't Breathe. Very cool movie. Made by the guy that did the latest Evil Dead. The lead from Evil Dead is in it too.

4 of the best horror movies of the past 20 years are French movies... fuck make it 5, I forgot about irreversible
The French and the Koreans have made some incredible horror films
I saw the worst French horror movie when I asked Chef Laurent Tourendal why there weren't and salt or pepper on the tables in BLT.

Spoiler alert: Never question a French chef about whether or not his food is properly seasoned, because the stereotype of the angry french chef exists for a reason.

Very much like The Invitation. You have the sense that somethings up and you're just waiting for to find out what.

The Sacrament is another like that.

If you like horror/comedy Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer is a favourite of mine.

The Shrine is another from them. No comedy in that one.

If we're talking horror comedy, my favorites in the last while is Tucker & Dale vs Evil and What we do in the shadows

But which of each is best?
Tucker & Dale is fantastic! There was talk of a sequel. Not sure where they're at with it.
You might like Jack Brooks then. It's a Canadian feature so it's not high budget. Much like Tucker & Dale.
