Coker said they are expecting ppv buys to be in the 200k range, and if it hits 300k it will be a huge win.
I'm torn on this idea.
Knowing the history of PPV sales for non-UFC events makes me think that 200k would be fantastic and anything more than that would truly be remarkable and show that at least they have a product that fans are willing to pay to see and that definitely means that they're a REAL player in the MMA landscape to more than just the hardcore fans.
At the same time, in order to accomplish that they've pretty much thrown every name in the organization and then some on this card which means that if it doesn't really sell then it they still have a very very long way to go.
I've been exceptionally critical of the carnie act with the senior leagues and various gimmicks but I really do want them to be successful because that's better for everyone, fans and fighters alike.
I won't be buying it though as there is only one fight on the main card that I would pay for and that's Larkin/Lima. Well... Maybe I can figure out how to buy in while I'm in Hong Kong tomorrow.
