According to Keith Idec of Boxing Scene, Mayweather is expected to make at least $100 million but his take could balloon to four times that much if the event hits all of its monetary metrics. McGregor will make at least $75 million, which is five times as much as he's made from any UFC event.

McGregor has made millions from endorsement and other revenue, but he's never made this kind of money simply for fighting. His take could grow exponentially as well if the event is as big of a success as it's pacing to be.

Boxing Kingdom estimates the purses could be as high as $400 million for Mayweather and $127 million for McGregor.

So conor could be pocketing $50.8m from this fight after taxes. That should change the mindset of future (if any) ufc fights.

Basically, cut this money in half plus for Conor any additional tax charged by Ireland.......they should just let everyone know that they won't get half of this. Still a lot but not what they report

Lol it took Floyd 49 fights to get to this big a fight. Conor is doing fine for himself in his first boxing match I would say...

I'm wondering if Mayweather gets more for promotion? As far as I know it's a 3 way copromotion between the UFC, Showtime and Mayweather promotions.

UFC is not co-promoting, and that is why their logo was nowhere on the banners during the "world tour.". They attempted to negotiate that but lost. Mayweather is the promoter and showtime is doing the ppv, production and distibution. Showtime has the exclusive rights to distribution and production, but is allowing ufc to do embedded and some other minor things on their own (they will not be paid for any of it, aside from their split with mcgregor). So showtime gets its earnings from ppv, the promoter gets money from ticket sales and merchandise, the fighters get their purse plus whatever ppv points they worked out, and the venue gets money from hotel rooms, gambling, food sales, and everything else people spend money on within the building.

I would expect them to, that's why I am so puzzled that they woukd say such an utterly preposterous thing that a single boxing match is going to somehow generate HALF A BILLION DOLLARS in revs........

Well, Mayweather-Pacquiao did about $500 million off 4.4M PPV's, so if this fight gets in the multiple millions for PPV's it's definitely possible.

He's doing fookn wonderful.

But I think this is as big as he or anyone else can go...Conor will probably never be in a bigger fight . He has no pacqiao, only a Diaz . And unless this fight boosts his star power tremendously (and he doesn't retire) a 3rd Diaz fight only gets so much $$

Manny/Floyd was the biggest boxing fight that had that broad sense of mainstream crossover that Boxing hadn't seen since Tyson. Conor is nothing to boxing people and a lot of MMA fans are worried he will make MMA look stupid, aren't interested because of the fake hype or are casual fans who aren't really into boxing. I have extreme doubts this gets anywhere near 4.4mm ppvs....

What percentage,of,connors money is contracted to wme and UFC? Management and promotion, who knows what other splits were agreed to make this happen.

If Connor makes over 10mil I will be amazed.

Floyd made $300 million for Pacquiao. I'd say $400 million for this one is pretty spot on.

Literally like at least 80% of the money from total ppvs, depending how much it sells... if they sell a million ppvs that's $100million, so 4million ppvs = 400million dollars = floyds cut. Can't be expected to do much more than 4 million so idk how Floyd will make that much money unless no one else gets paid

Hmm, well, boxing people don't know Conor, but they know Mayweather and they know this is in all probability his last fight. So I think a decent percentage of the buys will be from boxing fans. The problem is the price IMO. This will be one of those PPV's that will get tons of views but not a proportionate amount of buys because people will be hosting big parties with lots of chip-ins. It should pull in a ton of MMA fan buys. I agree 4.4M sounds unrealistic but it should get 2, which would place it in the top 5. Now, if Conor wins somehow, that sets up a rematch and that would just about automatically break the PPV record.

Which do you think is more unlikely, Conor winning or the fight getting 4.4M + PPV buys? I think there is a better chance of the fight setting the PPV record than Conor winning. That's if there are no shenanigans...I wouldn't be surprised if Floyd carried Conor (scoring a close decision which will then be "disputed") in order to set up a rematch.

Both guys have to be regretting that they didn't fight in or near their primes. 3 fights would have been all but assured, with each probably breaking the all-time record. And a couple of BILLION in revenue!!

I believe WME gets half of Conor's cut, so it depends how many PPV's the fight does. Conor will certainly make over 10 million. From Forbes:

This quote is from the original article, which I read before posting. Of that 75mil, I would be surprised if Connor gets to keep over 10mil.

I don't think WME is going to take 85% of his cut, which is about what 10M from 75 works out to. Conor would never agree to that. Floyd is already getting the lion's share so Conor for damn sure isn't getting raped at the WME end of it. They're likely getting 50% of his cut and no better.

He makes more in UFC fights. There is no way he is switching sports and diminishing his name for a guaranteed loss for for less than he is paid in the UFC. Conor gets his 60% of the $75m, then whatever is worked out for his pic points. He can retire and get fat off of this loss with no shits given. Dana even said at the end of one of the mayweather pressers that they are working on renegotiating conors contract so he comes back to the UFC after this fight instead of retiring. Right now Connor is making in the ball park of $15m (before taxes and fees) after salary and ppv points, and after this big payday and all the exposure he is getting, the ufc realizes he could either walk or make them a boatload of money (even if it is short-term) after this fight. No idea what they up his pay to, but I'd imagine it needs to be substantial since now Conor sees a ridiculous once in a lifetime check and knows that he is a large percentage of the reason for it.
