When Jon Jones first delved deeper into the idea of possibly fighting Brock Lesnar, it was because he believed it would be a “winnable” fight for him. His manager, Malki Kawa, on the other hand, is seeing it as an instant money grab, more than anything else.

What is not so much being discussed is Lesnar’s gains from the fight. And according to Jones, the UFC former heavyweight champion, and WWE superstar, it can be used as leverage to where he wants his career to be headed.

“I could see it being a leverage point to get paid the bigger bucks to stick around (with WWE) or come over to the UFC,” Jones told MMAjunkie. “Either way, I think it would be great if he comes over to the UFC to get…

Lesnar made $12mill last year in WWE. Would he make more from a fight with JBJ?
Idk. How many buys would that fight do? Feel like lesnar always gets a high show pay and revenue %... if it's a million buys and he gets 3%, that's 1.8 million + show money. If it's a million buys at 5.5%, that's 3 million + show money. If he's getting 10%, and the fight sells 1.5 million, Even then that's only 9 million + show money + reebok(lol)

So idk I doubt it. But I'm not a reliable source and Idk what his typical % of ppv cut would be I just tossed random numbers and percents out there

Most of the cuts are structured on a scale where you get $x per buy over 200k, $Y per buy over the next tier, and so on. So a simple % doesn't quite work.

Edited to add... This is from the deal that Eddie Alvarez was offered back in the day.
  • A tiered share of pay-per-view revenue, starting at "$1 for each ‘buy' between 200,000 and 400,000 buys, $2 per buy between 400,000 and 600,000 buys, and $2.50 per buy over 600,000 buys."

Oh yeah I completely forgot about that ... true that. Either way I don't think he makes 12 million unless they outsell mcgregor vs Diaz 2... they made like 13 and 11 million respectively

Seriously doubt it.

Hope he stays in the WWE, so we can see Jones in a fight that's actually interesting.
I don't know how anybody can find this matchup uninteresting. Personally, I love it, and even though I've never really been a fan of either, and I could care less which one won, I would definitely be fascinated to see how it unfolds when the time comes. I suspect Brock will run through him like a fright train though.

I didn't realize that Nate made that much. He made more in that fight than Nick got in his whole career.
