Antifa uses violence. Kkk and friends use violence.

This was bound to be violent. There were fist fights occuring from both sides since yesterday.

Block a road you might get run over. But this didn't seem like that. Seemed a car plowing forward until he smashed another. Then backing up in a hit and run. Not really someone fearing for their safety getting through a highway and accidentally hitting people or something that could reasonably happen if you are walking on an open roadway.

And I despise antifa.
Fucking nailed it

I agree.

I just hate assholes. I don't care which way they lean... Assholes are assholes and should be treated accordingly.

I think it's time these folks got together and tried to find some common ground. This constant getting angry and clinging to opposite poles does nothing but sow further discontent. It's time for a more harmonious approach. Let's soften those positions a little bit.

A police helicopter that was reportedly monitoring the protests and violence in Charlottesville, Virginia has crashed in a wooded area. Footage shows smoke rising from the scene.
Two people died in the crash, Virginia State Police confirmed, adding that police are investigating the incident. No injuries on the ground have been reported.

Fire units and police are at the scene.

The helicopter crashed near Old Farm Road in Albemarle Country, which is just outside the city.

"Shortly before 5 p.m. today (Aug. 12), a helicopter crashed into a wooded area near a residence on Old Farm Road. There are two confirmed fatalities," Virginia State Police said in a statement on Facebook.

Witnesses CBS19 News that the helicopter went down in the woods, and that a strong smell of burning was in the air. Police have sealed off the area.

A photo on Twitter claimed to be taken at the scene shows a large fire amid the trees. Earlier, a video taken from a nearby golf course showed black smoke rising from the area.

CNN hasn't reported the helicopter crush yet. They're probably busy thinking how they're going to spin the news to blame everything on Russia.

People are going to be angry at the president for the statement. People want to hear him side with them. They want to hear a solution about how it was all the other person's fault.

A reddit post that is going around said the following:

>This an extraordinarily complex situation, and as such will be misrepresented and simplified by the media.
>
>The Charlottesville clash was precipitated by the Charlottesville City Council changing the name of Robert E Lee Park to Emancipation Park and taking down the Robert E Lee statue.
>
>The Charlottesville City Council is fully in their right to do this, and conversely individuals who disagree with the decision are fully in their right to protest this decision.
>
>The legacy of the Confederacy is very complicated. In one sense the Confederacy was based on defense of the racist institution of slavery, and in another sense based on state's rights.
>
>Robert E Lee believed at the outset that secession from the Union to defend slavery was not a good idea, but he found himself choosing to take the side of Virginia in the impending war with the United States.
>
>For some, Robert E Lee represents the racist subjugation of African Americans, for others he represents the defense of Southern independence from the federal government.
>
>There's no doubt that there were white nationalists who came to protest the removal of the statue. Their views were on display in the form of racist signs and symbols in today's clash. However, there is no doubt some who protest the removal of the statue, who don't hold racist views but see the Robert E Lee statue as a symbol of Virginia and the South and the effort to cleanse the South of Confederate symbols as a politically-correct campaign to white-wash history.
>
>As for the counter-protesters, these too likely had a mixture of groups and intentions. For some, they came to legitimately protest what they see as a racist campaign to defend the Confederacy. However there is no doubt that the anarchist/Marxist group Antifa came not to protest, but to forcefully/violently prevent the legal assembly of statue removal protesters.
>
>The pro-Robert E Lee statue protesters obviously anticipated Antifa blocking them so they brought shields and weapons to defend/attack and allow them to protest the statue removal. Antifa obviously anticipated the clash as they too brought shields and weapons. A recipe for disaster and thus the clash - a well anticipated and orchestrated event.
>
>Lost in the clash, are the peaceful individuals on both sides who legitimately wanted to practice their freedom of speech and assembly to protest and counter-protest.
>
>These complexities will likely be washed over and this will simply become a result of the Trump presidency. As the media already showing they are blaming Breitbart and Steve Bannon. This completely ignores the relatively recent phenomenon of Confederacy legacy removal.
>
>No doubt, if Hillary Clinton was president we would see the same sort of clash play out again and again.
>
>What's the solution? I don't know. But I feel it's important to take an honest overview of all sides in this complex situation.

As I alluded to earlier there's a hodgepodge of people in a city that's not theirs protesting counter protesting on shared sides for completely different reasons. And even just simply having the police come in break it up arrest the violent won't change the societal constructs that are playing out.

The government can't fix this. It is incumbent upon the citizenry to adjust fire (not a pun).

Its a shame that things came to violence.it is never the way to resolve things.they should not be trying to erase history .it is obviously a controversial subject

Why did the white nationalists march with dollar store tiki torches?

Who the fuck thought that would be a good idea?

'Hey guys, I just hit up Dollarama and picked up these sweet torches for tonight..'

Because the KKK used to march with torches and most white nationalists are on welfare.
