That may have set Floyd's strategy right there. What did Mayweather predict for round to finish?
I think Conor was calling a KO around the 4th?
Ya. The only real hole in Conors game we have seen is when he gassed early against Diaz after calling an early KO. Diaz weathered the storm and once Conor wilted he went on for the finish. That may have set Floyd's strategy right there.

Is Mayweather known for ever coming out aggressive and winning early rounds? From the build up shows it sounds like he habitually sits back for 2-4 rounds to figure out his opponent them once he has the timing he goes to work.
I want conor, canelo and ggg in a no rules triple threat matchConor would beat anyone 170 lbs and under in an MMA match and anyone not named FMJ in a boxing match, FACT.
Hard to circle when you're getting lit up.I don't watch much boxing, but I noticed at the beginning Floyd didn't really circle much if at all. Is that typical?
Oscar De La Hoya isn’t quite as sure. The boxing legend and Golden Boy Promotions head told Ariel Helwani on Monday’s edition of The MMA Hour that he believes Mayweather allowed McGregor to win rounds.
“Because Mayweather let him,” De La Hoya said. “The first four of five rounds, he let him do that. … The punches are coming from different angles. It was a bit awkward to watch, actually.”
Mayweather, 40, did admit that his strategy at T-Mobile Arena was to let McGregor throw heavy shots early to tire him out and then land hard to the body. Mayweather was focusing on diminishing McGregor’s cardio and the game plan worked to a tee.
De La Hoya, who was critical of Mayweather vs. McGregor from the start, said if McGregor fought Canelo Alvarez, who De La Hoya promotes, it wouldn’t have lasted into the 10th, when Mayweather stopped McGregor by TKO.
“After seeing Saturday’s fight, Canelo probably would have knocked [McGregor] out in one round or two rounds,” De La Hoya said. “Canelo is a knockout guy, he’s a guy who’s not gonna trick people into making a fight last longer than it should last.
“MMA fighters are amazing fighters and I respect them dearly and boxing fighters are boxers. That’s just the bottom line.”
On Sept. 16, Alvarez will take on Gennady Golovkin in a matchup between two of the best boxers on the planet. The fight, like Mayweather vs. McGregor, will take place at T-Mobile Arena and is already sold out, De La Hoya said.
“I’m glad all these people spent their hundred dollars on watching this event,” De La Hoya said. “Now on Sept. 16, they will know what two pure boxers will be demonstrating and showing. … You’ll find out what a boxing match is.”
Even though he didn’t like the fight or the promotion, De La Hoya said he is a fan of McGregor, for his willingness to step into the ring with Mayweather and his ability as a UFC fighter. McGregor is the UFC lightweight champion and the biggest name in the history of MMA.
“I respect any fighter that gets into the ring, that’s the bottomline,” De La Hoya said. “The fact that McGregor even tried, there’s huge respect from my part to him. I respect the UFC, I respect any UFC fighter that’s in the Octagon, I respect fighters that put their life on the line. What I'm trying to say is they’re two different sports and I don’t want to see anything like it again.
“I probably will even go to his fight or buy his next fight when he steps into the Octagon again, because he’s an amazing guy.”
wordI got to laugh at those saying Conor won the early rounds.. Yes, he 'won' the early rounds as he played into Floyd's game plan and got his ass TKO'd.
I was clear, Floyd was never scared of Conor's punching power and in the end controlled the whole fight.
I really appreciate this, because with most of the people I'm a fan of, I don't stop liking them if they lose. They're shocked that Conor isn't being buried right now. It's rather interesting. They don't get it.
People don't support Conor because he wins. It's a lot of things. "HAHA YOU LOST TO ONE OF THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME IN A SPORT THAT'S NEW TO YOU!" was never going to be a good insult. They also saw all of the people who were adamant that Conor would win (most of whom were trolling) and expected them to be devastated that the most likely outcome came to fruition. Conor took a risk, it was fun to watch, and he took the loss like a true competitor. His star is only rising.
I think it's pretty clear when he's being sincere vs when he's trying to be entertaining, and a lot of people don't make that distinction so they put both of those in the same basket of things that define Conor as an athlete and person. I can't really blame those people since Conor doesn't outright say when he's being sincere or when he's turning it up (that would ruin the point). Conor stealing the belt from Aldo crossed the line in my eyes. The "I'm half black from the waist down" comment in Brooklyn did too, even moreso, but part of taking risks and being outrageous is crossing the line from time to time. The man's an entertainer, after all.I really appreciate this, because with most of the people I'm a fan of, I don't stop liking them if they lose.
The thing that originally turned me off of Conor was that he acted pretty obnoxiously early on. When he got in Aldo's face but pulled the guard in front of himself and pretended the guard had to hold him back - people were getting all excited about it, but it was just ridiculous. I mean, he was on television - we could see him.
Idk. He was funny on tuf and much more likable taking his losses than his wins - diaz 1, losing the watermelon contest - those times I didn't mind him so much.
Well yeah, but are you going to also say that Conor didn't show a clear aptitude? I think that would be a stretch. The point of the praise that Conor is getting isn't that he almost beat Floyd. No respectable person believes that. Here are some positives I took from it:I got to laugh at those saying Conor won the early rounds.. Yes, he 'won' the early rounds as he played into Floyd's game plan and got his ass TKO'd.
I was clear, Floyd was never scared of Conor's punching power and in the end controlled the whole fight.
Yeah its only the stupids who say Floyd 'let' him win the early rounds - simply becasue Floyd used it as an excuse.I've noticed it a lot over on Sherdog, and I think it's happening over here on a much smaller scale.
Conor haters couldn't wait to see him get embarrassed by Mayweather so everyone could laugh at him. But then the unthinkable happened - Conor put up a respectable fight and his stock has risen tremendously, even in defeat.
So now what do they do? They claim that Floyd let him win the early rounds. That an egomaniac perfectionist like Floyd let Conor punch him 111 times.
Conor will wipe the floor with Paulie, Khabib, Ferguson, and Diaz.
By brakes neck, do you mean gets choked out?McGregor breaks necks and cashes cheques, and it drives the haters nuts!
Well first off I used the correct word in my post (not brake as in handbrake) and I said necks (plural), not neck as in he broke one neck and decided to retire from neck breaking.By brakes neck, do you mean gets choked out?
