Nate is going to do everything he can to make sure he gets a third fight with Conor. And it makes sense.
Nate was offered the interim title fight against Ferguson before they gave it to Lee and Nate turned it down. He's holding out for another red panty night and then he's quit MMA like his brother.

Really annoying part about this, that would have been a great fight, Nate could have beaten him, cemented himself as the top contender and got paid more in the long run.
Hanging around for McGregor with his hat in his hand is just sad.
He is right though I suppose, no point risking losing that fight, if he slides out of the top 10 they can't sell it as easily.

They might still be able to sell Nate-Conor 3 if Nate lost to Ferguson, but it would've been harder. Nate probably thinks he could beat Tony, but he understands the risk as well.
I think another reason Nate didn't accept that fight is because they weren't offering PPV points, something I'm pretty sure he got for the two Conor fights.
Yeah, I'm sure they could spin it, true, that's a lot of focusing on the negatives though.
Should be thinking beat Ferguson and take control of the division, call out Conor as a paper champ, sells a tonne more then.
If he wins the belt he gets his PPV points in the future anyway.

Doesn't make as much sense for him, he knows he is the bigger money fight for McGregor returning, and can afford to sit out until then.
Nate would be crazy to fight Ferguson. the Conor trilogy fight would still be available if he lost but his bargaigning power would be cut in half. the way it is now he has those 10 million or whatever guaranteed whenever Conor feels like it's time to go.
Conor won't take that fight with Nate. it's too difficult and he's looking for easy money.........he will have to earn it and only for a third of what he can make by fighting in freak show fights or WWE

Its because there's a difference between promoting a fight, promoting a fighter badly (re MM, Nunes etc etc) and just showering one with hyperbolies to make everyone believe he's a spectacle to behold "once in a lifetime" GOAT" "UNDEFEATED IN STRIKING" "WON THE FIRST 4! DID NOT GO DOWN!"

Yh that's what the UFC says and the way it wants to conduct business, boxing at least has promoter/organisation separation. I am not saying it is not the way things are, but rather that we shouldn't simply accept them as this.
simply put -- without fighting mcgregor, diaz doesn't make 13 million dollars from one fight or anywhere close to it. that's all.

His fight with Eddie Alvarez did more than Conor-Nate 1 and almost as many as Conor-Nate 2.
Yes but most of that was because it was for the second belt and the McMoney fight was being hyped at the same time, we are kind of running out of "new" shit for Conor to try out though and there's really not that many options that would sell that well apart from Diaz now imo.
Mayweather is as bad an example as you can give because he actually owns the promotion. He gets the lion's share of the revenues as well. Pretty hard to be motivated to go out and oversell when you're getting maybe 3% of the take if you're lucky.
How do you think Mayweather got to the point of having is own promotion? Being good at it. We look at the end results of one's efforts and we poo on it, without considering the work put into it. Hard work, while others complain. Not everybody is a good salesperson, but that is what it comes down to. Conor, Mayweather, etc, are good salesmen as well as fighters and are succesful because they refuse to be denied. Muhammad Ali refused to be denied. He did not do any of the crying while they took everything away from him, more than just a belt.
Keep coming with excuses on why Conor sucks balls. Meanwhile you know he is getting people paid. Period. Have Nate fight Alvarez and see how much they can make on their own.
