I know I know, Bisping is not the greatest champ the 185lb division has had. But GSP is universally considered one of the greatest of all time, usually 3rd behind Jones and Silva. With Jones and Anderson questionable due to their failed tests, I think becoming a 2-division champion would be more than enough for GSP to ascend to the #1 spot. With his legacy at 170 secured and adding a 185lb title reign to his resume, especially at this stage in his career, I think he could finally get that #1 spot.

If he successfully defends the 185 belt against a top-5 opponent, then Yes - Undeniable GOAT.

If gsp beats bisping , defends MW title, then goes back and reclaims his WW title.. he is undeniable goat.

But also if he wins MW title and defends it he has a very strong case for goat status

He's already the GOAT. Beating Bisping just further cements it. Especially if he beats Whittaker after too...bah gawd...

I don't think GSP can beat Bisping. Bisping is too big and has excellent take down defense, and cannot be kept down. Size reach and Bisping has the better hands IMO. Chael could not keep him down long enough to accomplish anything and he's nearly twice GSP's size

I dont think so either. For the reasons you stated. Going to have a hard time getting Bisping down, and Bisping's a better boxer. Going to be an interesting fight.

Not to mention GSP's long long lay off.

Yeah it will be interesting to see if continued to get even better during his time off, or if father time (and ring rust) show up. If he wins though, things get interesting. Does he stay at MW? If he does, could he compete with a guy like Rockhold for example? If vacates and goes to WW, then there's another division that suddenly becomes a clusterfuck.

See thats a solid list. But being able to satisfy ear pussies doesnt exactly make you the best fighter.

Or maybe it does. I dont even know anymore. Educate me, 2017 MMA confuses me
