Haven't seen Ong Bak. (It's in the "to watch" pile) City of God was a really great flick. Different genre though. I personally try not to rate different genre of films against each other as it tends to skew objectivity and rate films as something they aren't.
The raid and the raid 2 are both 10/10 in my book.

it was a lot worse than the previous films that series went in a dumb direction the cgi looks like it is from the mid 90's. this series is especially bad when compared to other YA dystopian films like Maze Runner and the hunger games.I couldn't even finish the movie and it was free on hbo.

Let me just +1 that. I rarely enjoy thriller/horror movies nowadays. They're full of childish sudden scares, or CGI bullshit. This one though, this one got it right. The direction is truly amazing, the choice of viewing angles and the scene geometry was superb, the actors did a great job mimicking a demeanor from a bygone era, there was an eeriness at almost every scene because the creators of this movie made you worry about what you don't see and not what you do.
The ending could be considered a little abrupt and quirky but overall it was an amazing movie. Trailer:

I went this high because I'm a sucker for baseball & the historical impact.
I did not like the casting of Harrison Ford, or the temperament Robinson portrayed as if he was always holding back rage about to snap, as I feel it's probably historically more accurate that he had a more humble & fearful attitude. This is often how characters are portrayed for dramatic effect, but hey, it's Hollywood, what do I know...

This Australian made gem is so bad that it is good. It's one of those movies. It's probably shot with one camera, or rather with a phone, if so, props. But the special effects, the horribly bad acting make for quite a few laughs. Light one up or have a few, and watch this thing. You won't regret it. Like any action hero, this hero has is own one-liner: "I hate today". Laughed my balls off, an unintentionally funny movie gets the unintentional score of 8/10.
(Intended score would be closer to 2/10)

Solid movie with some fun fights scenes.
Didn't see that plot twist at the end at all. Took me a bit to shake the though of something like that happening.

It's one of the best revenge movies ever imo.
It was one of the 1st to truly fuck with you mind when you're cheering for the main guy the entire movie and it's all about his revenge, when it's actually a revenge movie about the main bad guy.
The acting and direction are top notch and should be with one of the best directors and one of the best actors that country has ever produced (I'm a huge fan of both and they have worked together a bit)

I need to watch it again to remember more, cause I haven' seen it in 3 or 4 years now but it is the perfect revenge movie imo
The remake Hollywood did was decent but it shows how truly great the original is. The acting is better (and I like Josh brolin) and the direction isn't even close
Ok good to know. It's not like it was bad, I really enjoyed it but it didn't have me in awe or anything. It was the first of many to come in my martial arts genre marathon I've started. SPL II: A Time for Consequences and Hero were my first picks bit of can't find English subbed or subbed on Kodi yet. UK Turks is one of the only MA specific libraries I know of.
