It's irresponsible to believe everything and it's up to the individual to be intelligent enough to determine the bullshit from the truth

I agree with you 100% that most of the bullshit put out there (at least 80%) makes people like myself who do question pretty much everything look like fools
Where we disagree is that i feel this is done intentionally through misinformation/disinformation to do exactly what you outlined

I did put you in a no win situation about proving these theories wrong which can be nearly impossible, my point was that (I'd say) 20% of the stuff is real but because of the 80% bullshit, we get criticized for believe any of it, even the teal shit

And to answer your question, I wouldn't take any of the pills, I wouldn't trust them that even 5 of the pills are fine
Misinformation exists, but it's typically not the government that's doing it. They don't have to. We do it ourselves. That's the crazy thing about the internet nowadays- the people are now the propagandizers. Fox and CNN are biased to an immoral level, but they are that way because of ratings. The public doesn't want to see a news source that's right down the middle. They want their biases confirmed. I think Facebook and Twitter is where people get most of their news now, which means that we are getting our news from each other.

Think of this, though- most anti-government people and those who believe that the government controls and spreads information to divide us and keep us down were into Donald Trump. Donald Trump literally told the American people that every negative piece of news about him is fake and biased, and that if they want real information they need to either listen to him (the government) or Fox News, which is a tv network that I think we'd agree shows a very clear bias. Why, if these people are so into the idea that the government controls the spread of information and that it's a bad thing, do they support a man who literally tells them to ignore all criticisms because they're biased and to always go to him for the REAL story, especially when he has shown such a propensity to lie? It's because we are largely gullible, and we grab onto an idea and run with it with a fear of eventually finding out we were wrong all along. If someone is of the idea that the government spreads misinformation but they support Donald Trump, that's an almost scary contradiction.

Gay For Longo @Gay for Longo another example of my issues with it- it preaches a mistrust in science, and it frequently alleges that all scientists are paid by the government to deceive us. Aside from the fact that it's clearly impossible to bribe every scientist, we run into a situation where as soon as someone is actually qualified to weigh in on something scientific (meaning they went to school and got a degree), they are discredited, and some dude on YouTube becomes the guy for these people to go to for their information, qualifications be damned. Someone sent me a video the other day by Lloyd Pye, who believes that we are the product of aliens mating with primates. He laid out his ideas for 45 minutes, and proved that he doesn't understand the theories of evolutionary biology that he was supposedly debunking. He insinuated that scientists can't answer things that even I know the answer to (I don't have a degree in biology or any science for that matter).

I looked Lloyd Pye up because I remembered him from the whole Starchild Skull bullshit debacle. He has a bachelors in psych from Tulane University. He is grossly underqualified to speak on the things he was preaching, but thousands of people have had their whole concept of reality changed simply because he spoke confidently to people who want the world to be a movie. It's literally dangerous to society because it gives credence to demagogues, charlatans and carnival barkers. It teaches people the absolute wrong way to actually research a topic, and it contributes to the slowing down of scientific and intellectual progress.

As you can see, I've put a lot of thought into this. I used to be conspiracy-minded (the first season of Ancient Aliens really screwed me up), but the more I "looked into it", the more I realized that it's just a hobby for people, and somehow it turned into a cult-like ideology and way to see things. Now that the internet has expanded to where it is today, I honestly think it's a major threat to the progress and future of society, mostly for the reasons I laid out above, but for many other reasons as well. We believe things immediately now if they're said clearly enough and they are something that is either fun to believe or perpetuates our pre-conceived outlooks. That mindset is currently causing political turmoil in our country. It's more dangerous than it seems.
Well there are too many people that are just dying to believe in something, no argument there

The guy you mentioned I really don't know, but I agree with your point completely
It's like the flat earth guy Eddie bravo is buddies with
The guy is an idiot and I see all the flat earth people saying the scientists are paid off.
I could see a couple guys put in that position to push certain agendas, but it's impossible to bribe all scientists like you said

Another one where I see the science debate is the simulation theory, which goes with your people wanting to be in a movie idea which again I can't argue, there are too many of those people out there

I dont think we are that far off from one another, I just won't dismiss all conspiracy theories until I've done my own research and come to my own conclusion

It Is scary that so many people want to follow the leader instead of leading themselves, it's even scarier that so many people take advantage of that

You really don't think some of this fucking insane theories are intentionally pushed?

I don't think the government pushes them, because it would be counterintuitive. The government wants us to trust them, so it would make no sense for them to give us information that would likely make us trust them less.

This is an odd thing to post. Do you do this in every thread- step in and give your status in terms of participation? I never took you to be that kind of weird.
No. Just every once in a while.

Do you and Longo write each other love letters in every thread? I never took either of you to be that kind of weird.

It's good to do thorough and proper research about anything on which you have an opinion is the way I'd put it. "Question everything" is good in theory, but it is being misused nowadays to the point where it now means "give immediate credence to the first alternative theory you hear about everything". Believe it or not, the "mainstream" story is typically the story. There are definite exceptions to this, but as I said PROPER research is key. Proper meaning not on YouTube, and not by googling "why Sandy Hook was a false flag". I'm not saying you personally do this, but it's very prevalent nowadays.
Agree 100% although some YouTube videos of lectures from accredited people can be very helpful
Very important not to rely on this though

Very good post!

They all lie and people fucking love it, as long as it goes along with their idea

Personally I do think governments and corporations spread certain agendas through misinformation but id agree that people are willing and eager to eat it up and spread it even more themselves

Then there are people who just do it for the lolz
These guys intentionally put out fake images and information through social media because they know people are guilable and within no time, it somehow becomes "fact"

The political landscape we live in is fucked, it's built on lies and confirmation bias
If you believe any of them without doing research, you're a fool imo

But this has already happened in the past with the government putting out false info to get the country into wars, and was confirmed later to be nothing but lies

Yeah, I should have been more specific. It has happened, it likely still happens sometimes, but it's not as prevalent as many believe.

I know a guy who used to work on political campaigns in the background as a covert guy, and he is now a troll on 4chan who literally believes that they meme'd an unqualified president. They wanted Trump in because he's going to be bad, and they crave chaos. I talk to him all the time because he's super knowledgeable and up front about what he does. He no longer works for the government in that capacity but he fills me in on what's real and what's not.

Never happened, trust me, I had no part in that which did not happen and I did not delete that Twitter and Instagram account after the election
I swear

No idea what you're talking about :)

It was so much fun during the election lol
Lol well as much as I fuckin hate you guys for it, I'm sure it was fun. I'm vehemently anti-Trump, but even I admit that the reactions against him are out of hand. I had a viral anti-Trump tweet on accident and I was called a cuck about a million times by people with twitter handles like @adolphbinladen and my followers doubled after 200 people with "#ImWithHer" in their bio followed me because they thought I was down for their cause.

Illiteracy /= lack of stimulating material to read.

And yes I use Google voice to text for pretty much everything.
I was insinuating that you can't read because you thought Longo and I were writing love letters.

Bro I run the CMNH fan club, you don't wanna push the only member out. We're (I'm) supposed to have our (my) annual luncheon next month! The theme is "the evolution from Jon Jones to Mike Perry" and I've already put all of your posts into a little pamphlet. It's kinda sad, actually, now that I think of it.

You messed up when you thought I actually read one word of those long ass posts.

It was insane how fast the follower counts rose with just one post
I deleted an account with well over 1000 followers, which isn't that much but considering i didnt start until the 2nd debate, i was impressed
Them vs Us mentality in politics is disgusting imo but it was so damn easy to exploit

I was more in it as an anti Clinton person but was laughing at both sides believe what either Clinton or Trump were saying

There was an email where it said Clinton has a public opinion and a private opinion (basically saying she's fine lying), I found it absolutely hilarious people didn't think this applies to all politicians
