Have to say your 1st post got my attention
He's very good at that and I for one can't say I complainHe's trying to rope you in.
Very familiar with immortal technique...good recommendation.@Saint Enock fantastic OP you should take a listen to
Haven't listened to immortal technique in years
So good
You're username was my 1st hint you have horrible taste.... the above comment has confirmed my suspicionSorry but that song is awful. He's babbling for the first 30 second and then says "you better watch what the fuck comes out of your mouth, or I'll hijack a plane and fly it into your house", sorry but this is just whack as fuck and cringe worthy.
What's good about it? The rhymes are lame, he's not dynamic, and the production sounds like something he took off of Youtube. You're username was my 1st hint you have horrible taste.... the above comment has confirmed my suspicion
I've been following the rap scene since the late 80'sWhat's good about it? The rhymes are lame, he's not dynamic, and the production sounds like something he took off of Youtube.
If you're a grown adult and you don't cringe at the line "I'm going to hijack a plane and fly it into your house" I don't know what to tell ya This is like the shit people listen to when they grow out of screamo looooool
I've heard of Immortal Technique but I never bothered to listen to him and I simply wasn't impressed by this performance.I've been following the rap scene since the late 80's
I'll admit immortal isn't nas or rakim but nobody is, id compare him closer to a mos deaf or dead prez or krs-one who also weren't affraid to put themselves out there
The line you took, you seem to be forgetting the time frame that that track came out
Those rhymes had a much bigger effect on people "back in the day" and immortal was one of the few to be talking REAL SHIT at the time
From your posts it sounds like you had never heard of IT before this post which is pretty telling
To say it sounds like something he took off YouTube... man Go look when this shit came out, YouTube wasn't even fucking around
Smfh
Now, Please let us hear your idea of good rappers Mr grown adult
And please don't say jayz or kayne or I might have to treat you like the Leafs used to treat the sens in the Playoffs
Wouldn't say i hate them, not a fan of either thoughI've heard of Immortal Technique but I never bothered to listen to him and I simply wasn't impressed by this performance.
I don't consider threatening to tie someone up and cut their throat as "real shit", it just sounds lame. Quick Google search says this is from 2003, so we're not talking the Jurassic period of rap here. Plenty of great shit had been made and was being made around that time.
My favourite rap album of all time was released only two years after this crap, Monkey Barz by Sean Price (RIP), and to me Sean Price blows this dude away! BOOT CAMP CLIQ IN THE HOUSE. Before that #2 probably Redman's Muddy Waters. If you hate Sean Price and Redman, well damn!
I don't know enough about IT to make a judgement on his whole career, as of now this is the only song I listened to, but I just have to be honest: the lyrics really made me cringe. That opening line about flying a plane into your house, I mean fuckin BOOOOO. And the conspiracy stuff, yuck. But maybe the man writes better stuff, I have no idea. I was only commenting on the one song.Wouldn't say i hate them, not a fan of either though
By the time period I mean that it was a year or 2 after 911
Think of those lyrics with that in mind
Also at that time rappers weren't really talking about shit like this, at the most you had guys pissed at cops and all that but IT focused on the bigger picture (while including conspiracy theory stuff which admittedly will catch my attention)
Now, IT is not my favorite rapper and he does have some shit that Id press the skip button, but this track isn't one of em
Different strokes for different folks (as long as jayz and kayne aren't in your top 5 lol)
The top 2 can never be debated imo, rakim is tha god and nas was the 2nd coming
krs-one has been my personal favorite for a long ass time but I'll admit he's not the best, but again I'm more into late 80s to mid nineties
And I hope you caught on I was joking about the Leafs and sens, was some of the best playoff series I've seen
Trust me, if you like nas, check out rakim, nas takes a lot of influence from rakim and even wrote a tribute song to himI don't know enough about IT to make a judgement on his whole career, as of now this is the only song I listened to, but I just have to be honest: the lyrics really made me cringe. I always liked Nas, Illmatic and God's Son are two of my favourites. Never bothered to listen to Rakim.
Yeah the battle of Ontario has been shit for a long time because both teams were garbage, but now it's gonna ramp up where both have a solid team, I'm fucking stoked hahaha
Oh and I will cop to this... I never liked Jay Z but I do like Kanye, and he actually got me back into rap in 2004 with College Graduate. Not so much with his rapping but I thought his production especially for back then was incredible.
