Tony leaves himself open to getting hit. Conor will test that chin, no doubt. Can Tony survive, get into the championship rounds, tire Conor out, and then lock up a submission.

Will Tony finally fight like he can?
The trash talk will be a casual winner.

Nailed it. Tony gets hit alot and Conor's left hand is nothing to play with but like you said
if Tony can get it to the ground especially in the later rounds it could get real interesting.

Personally thats the fight I wanna see. I mean yeah Nate is the money fight but all we have been
doing is money fights. I wanna see a Champions defending belts and solidifying their reign

TBH that the only thing keeping me from buying into the McNuggets hype.

I mean I acknowledge his skill.

Fast Counters

Power in the Left Hand.

And a an ability to read his opponent like no one else.

But the way he played the game.

Finding the easiest way to title shots.

(One fight at Lightweight)

And these long delays with no title defenses??

Just leave me with the Fact this man only cares about the Game and Money.

And Not about the Legitimacy of His "Reign"

A fight with a top conteder would obviously solidify it.

So until then.

He's just McNuggets

My thoughts exactly. I'm just as excited when Conor fights as the next guy but I can't
get with the "he's the greatest thing since wonderbread" crowd until the dude defends
a damn belt.

Yeah he's a legit bad mutherfucker. But defend the damn title man

If Conor doesn't KO Tony in the first two rounds, he's in trouble. His cardio won't hold up.
Yep.

I actually don't think it's that interesting a fight for this reason. As in, one guy will have a clear advantage at the beginning, but has a massive weaknesses in his game (cardio) so we are just watching to see if the other guy can survive long enough to exloit it.

If the fight actually happens the pre-fight stuff will be weird. Conor can talk so well but Ferguson is just awkward. I hope Conor plays off of that and sets traps so Tony makes more embarrassing comments.

Conor needs one shot and Ferguson is not known for good defence.

Over in less than a round.

I do agree that the longer the fight goes it's better for Ferguson but I can't see it lasting long at all.

I hate being the negative guy here, I just don't see this fight ever happening.... Listen, it CAN happen, I just see the likelihood being minimal. The UFC has been losing cash this year, as much as Dana may say that the fight makes sense, money makes more sense. Conor v Nate 3 I feel is the next likely fight.... Unless GSP wins against Bisping, in that case I see GSP v Conor as the most likely fight (funny thing is if that happens, then I could see the next fight being Tony vs Conor after this fight). GSP loses against Bisping, Nate vs Conor I feel will happen, and Tony vs Khabib (although I think Tony should sit and wait at that point).

On the actual topic of the fight, styles make fights, and in this case, the fight style favors Conor, being objective here (because I can't stand Conor), I actually think he puts out Tony in round 2.......... I can't believe I just picked Conor to win a fight..... I feel dirty

Conor wrecks him in the first. Conor went the distance with Diaz and knows he has a point between his first and second wind where he is fatigued but has learned to weather the storm. If Tony manages to get out of the first or second (highly doubtful) that is his only shot.

I agree. The only way Conor takes this fight is if Ferg holds the belt for a year and Conor sits out for the same amount of time then comes back to take a fight and prove that even with a weak name challenger his brand still carries the day. I see Conor winning the fight, especially with all the work he put into his boxing over the past year. Definitely an easier challenge for him than Nate (though oddly I feel Ferg could possibly beat Nate).

Odds on LW keeping a unified lineal title are incredibily slim.

It’ll be same type of analyzing like Conor vs Khabib. If Conor could put them away before they get to him.

But I give Ferguson more chance for speed and awkwardness in his striking, even his TD attempts are so awkward.

Conor’s left is no joke, been proven time after time except he couldn’t put away Nate, readon y Nate is so awesome.

Ferguson's a tough dude with a lot of heart, but I still think Khabib would maul him, and he would be an underdog (or should be) against either Conor or Nate. Kevin Lee with staph was able to take Tony down at will and land some pretty significant strikes prior to gassing. Don't get me wrong, Ferguson against any of those guys would be fun to watch.
