Former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre is leaving no stone unturned in preparation for his UFC 217 title fight with Michael Bisping, and that includes bringing in former opponents to his training camp at Tristar Gym in Montreal.

It’s a crucial fight for St-Pierre’s legacy. With a win he, can become just the fourth fighter in UFC history to hold belts in two weight classes. In order to help him get ready, “Rush” has enlisted the help of Jake Shields (32-9-1), a former Strikeforce champion and former opponent of the French-Canadian.

I think it means that GSP has a gameplan to take Michael down and not let him get back up. Going for sub attempts when possible but not going to be too risky.

Jake has been training with Tonon and Danaher in NY, I think. Possible GSP was looking for a specific kind of training partner for his gameplan that would also provide him with a place near the fight location down the road, and Danaher recommended bringing Jake in. I think it's cool.

Training with Jake is good but training with Tonon is outstanding if GSP is really working on subs. Things could get really interesting.

My guess - completely a guess - is that Tonon would be there for offense and Jake would be there to play the Bisping defense role.

This fight could end up being a terrible split decision a la Ferg vs. Castillo. We might actually end up with a horrible rematch a la Woodley vs Wonderboy.

But hopefully it's awesome instead.

For not being a full blown conspiracy nut you sure question everything. It's hilarious.
If you don't get the joke here you may as well just go chain yourself to a gay bar and get bummed to death

If Danaher says so...it must be true. He's a god damn wizard.

Shields is a very weird choice. I'd expect someone longer who likes to stay on their bike. Honestly Condit would be a better training partner for Bisping and he's affiliated.

Bisping in his podcast a week or two ago mentioned that he had trained with Shields before and reached out to him to come and train for his camp against GSP but turned it down because he had been training with Danaher who is affiliated with GSP.

This is actually interesting.

Shortly after Nick and GSP fought, Caio Terra, who was Nick Diaz's jujitsu coach went over to help out Carlos Condit's camp vs GSP. After, Caio was fired for being a traitor.

That might be because of Ceasar but I know loyalty is super important to all those guys in the Scrap pack and knowing that GSP could be potential opponent for Nick in the future (or even Nate), I wonder what they'll say about it.

BTW, wtf happened to Ceasar Gracie? Did he finally get caught screwing the Diaz over? He just disappeared from the scene completely.
