Haqqani captors killed child, raped wife, Canadian ex-hostage says

Parents of freed US hostage furious with son-in-law for Afghanistan trip

This guy takes his pregnant wife to Afghanistan? Her parents think that he's just taken her on a backpacking trip.
Now that he's released he talks about how selfless he was in trying to bring aid to taliban-controlled villagers that no government or NGO is willing to help? What amount of Aid could two individuals, one pregnant, bring while backpacking?

And then it turns out that he brags about how "anything on Wikipedia about terrorism" he wrote. And got himself wrapped up with the kid that rolled a grenade into a soldier's tent threw a grenade at a soldier earlier this decade... And married that guys sister.

Then he initially refuses to get onto the airplane after being rescued because the airplane is headed to a USA base first. He wanted a direct flight from the random place he was rescued to Canada.

Oh and let's not forget how weird you have to be to impregnate your wife as often as possible (a baby a year basically) in taliban captivity. Once I'm raising one kid under a gun, maybe I could keep it in my pants at the risk of more kids literally knowing nothing more than being a Taliban prisoner. The kids are all going to be screwed.

The whole this is weird. This guys is nuts. And I think there's way more to this than any of the single surface stories.

Don't forget how he hid her pregnancy, then delivered it in the middle of the night with a flashlight between his teeth. But then reports that his captors brought all the equipment he needed for postpartum care. And the baby was sickly so they (reads like he is referring to captors) force fed the baby to help it thrive.

He flew direct via commercial per reports today still.
Directly to Canada, yes.

Initial reports suggested Mr Boyle had refused to board a US military flight out of Pakistan.

Mr Boyle was once married to a woman who espoused radical Islamist views and is the sister of a former Guantanamo Bay inmate, Omar Khadr. CNN suggested he might fear prosecution by the US authorities.

But Mr Boyle rubbished the reports after arriving in Canada.

That's hardly closure.
What did he say?

That he didn't fear charges? Or that he didn't refuse a military flight?

Fearful or not, all trying to be seen as innocent would say the former.

If he refused a direct secure flight from the American military that coordinated his rescue, instead to be left a target being dropped off at a civilian airport after 5 years of hostage taking, I'm suspicious.

Not the least because he's a suspicious werido anyways.

Reading about his ex wife is fascinating.
Her father was an Egyptian born Canadian that ran to Taliban territory immediately after 9/11.
He setup up 3 arranged marriages for his daughter, unclear if her 4th marriage to boyle was arranged or not.

Then she's divorced from him a year later.

Josh Boyle and the hostage wife got married after only a year of internet dating following the divorce. Since one couldn't work in the others country immediately (they were surprised) they did the logical thing...spent years traveling until the paper work went through.

Why can't Canadians have normal Afghanistan weirdos like us

"I scared the squirrel out of his hole, he popped his head up and he got capped,” Faulkner told ABC News this week, referring to bin Laden’s death. “[U.S. officials] were handed this opportunity on a platter from myself,” he was quoted as saying.

He sounds like a nutt, apart from not wanting to go to a USA airbase. That's American soil, and you guys are fucking nuts.

Yeah, because the U.S. have never held an innocent man without trial in an illegal prison for years. This guy had reason to be fearful of the U.S. regardless of his real involvement with the Taliban.

Something is off with this guy.

So I assume/hope the Canadian govt will keep an eye on him for a while, even though he is the 'victim'?

That isn't the point really.
The question is whether he turned down said flight or not. Then we could consider reasons.

Much different scenario but kind of reminds me of the Bowe Bergdahl situation no one could make sense of.

Everytime I go on vacation I end up banging a couple Taliban chicks. Last spring break I was in Daytona and Taliban twin sisters dragged me behind a KFC and jerked me off.
